Talascend is currently seeking a Maintenance Electrician for a contract opportunity with our client in Princeton, New Jersey.

Overview

The Maintenance Electrician will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and installation of electrical equipment, wiring, and lighting systems across various facilities. The role also involves some maintenance and facility work, ensuring systems operate efficiently and safely.

Responsibilities

Test, troubleshoot, and repair control panels, electric motors, and electrical equipment
Isolate and repair issues in wiring, motors, and other electrical components
Troubleshoot and repair electrical controls and motor control centers
Bend and install rigid or PVC conduit
Pull electrical cables and wires in conduit
Utilize voltage and amperage measuring devices
Travel between facilities to support daily operations
Complete work orders for routine repairs, maintenance, and lighting/power installations
Maintain equipment such as switchgear, generators, and lighting systems
Assist in maintenance repairs and preventive maintenance of HVAC systems and related equipment
Respond to after-hour emergencies
Collaborate with outside contractors and vendors performing repairs or servicing equipment onsite
Coordinate with onsite personnel including security, cleaning staff, and cafeteria personnel

Qualifications

8-10 years of experience in electrical maintenance or related field
High school diploma or equivalent
Active Journeyman’s electrical license
Valid driver’s license
Ability to repair and maintain high voltage equipment up to 600 volts
Knowledge of lockout/tagout procedures, NEC rules, and safety regulations
Computer skills to interface with machinery programs
Demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks and work efficiently
Strong communication, cooperation, and teamwork skills
Ability to lift objects weighing up to 50 pounds

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with troubleshooting control panels and motor control centers
Experience in maintenance work beyond electrical systems as indicated
