Job Description
This role operates in a very fast-paced, high-volume production environment, where you will set up, adjust, and operate bending and laser machines to produce accurate sheet metal and tube parts. You will follow layouts and templates, verify quality using measurement tools, and complete all required documentation while contributing to a collaborative, safety-focused manufacturing team.
Responsibilities
* Set up, adjust, and operate bending machines and/or laser machines in a high-volume production environment.
* Follow layouts, templates, blueprints, and process sheets to correctly set up machines and produce parts to specification.
* Check that bent parts are within tolerance using appropriate measurement and inspection equipment, including tape measures, calipers, and protractors.
* Identify, segregate, and remove parts that do not meet quality standards or specified tolerances.
* Perform first article inspections as needed to verify initial part quality and machine setup accuracy.
* Complete and document all required production, quality, and process paperwork accurately and on time.
* Operate material handling equipment such as hoists, cart caddies, and manual pallet jacks to move materials and finished parts safely.
* Troubleshoot and adjust bending equipment as needed to resolve issues and maintain consistent part quality.
* Work independently while contributing to a fast-paced team environment to meet production goals.
* Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean and organized work area throughout the shift.
Essential Skills
* Minimum six months of metal tube bending experience.
* Hands-on experience operating bending equipment with the ability to adjust settings and solve machine-related problems.
* Ability to operate and accurately read a tape measure, calipers, and protractors.
* Ability to read and interpret blueprints and process sheets.
* Ability to effectively communicate in English, including speaking, reading, writing, and understanding.
* Ability to work independently in a fast-paced team production environment.
* Ability to consistently lift up to 50 pounds.
* Comfort with bending, twisting, and lifting throughout the workday in a manufacturing setting.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
* Experience working with sheet metal in a production or manufacturing environment.
* Previous machine operation experience in a fast-paced production setting.
* Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate, in-tolerance parts.
* Reliable work history with consistent employment and limited job changes.
* Solid problem-solving skills to identify and correct equipment or quality issues quickly.

Work Environment
This position is based in a manufacturing facility that operates at a very fast pace and focuses on high-volume production. The environment is not air conditioned and can become hot, especially during warmer months, and the work involves frequent bending, twisting, and lifting throughout the day. You will work around sheet metal and tube bending equipment, as well as laser machines, and regularly use hoists, cart caddies, and manual pallet jacks to move materials. The role is physically demanding and requires comfort with standing, moving, and handling materials for the majority of the shift in an active production setting.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Anoka, MN.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $21.25 - $23.25/hr.
