Job Description

This role involves working on a fast-paced production line to support various food manufacturing processes, including general labour, packaging, packing, and boxing. You will help ensure products are prepared, packaged, and handled safely and efficiently while maintaining a clean and organized work area.

Responsibilities
* Perform general labour tasks on the production line, including packing, boxing, and handling products as they move through the process.
* Align trays, place products into trays, and ensure items are correctly cupped and prepared for packaging.
* Load and unload trays, particularly for items such as bagels, and place finished products into boxes for shipment.
* Carry out packaging and boxing duties across different product lines such as muffins, crumpets, cakes, bagels, English muffins, and cookies.
* Stand for extended periods while working at various stations along the production line.
* Follow established quality assurance procedures, especially in areas focused on product inspection and packaging quality.
* Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area in accordance with company safety and hygiene standards.
* Work effectively as part of a team to meet production targets and timelines.
* Adapt to different production tasks and buildings as needed, depending on operational requirements.

Essential Skills
* Experience performing general labour tasks in a production or manufacturing environment.
* Proficiency in packaging and packing products on a production line.
* Ability to stand for long periods and perform repetitive tasks safely and efficiently.
* Capability to handle boxing, tray alignment, and loading/unloading tasks.
* Attention to detail to support basic quality checks during packaging and boxing.
* Reliability and willingness to work in environments with varying temperatures.

Additional Skills & Qualifications
* Experienced as a packaging operator or production line worker.
* Experience working in food production or similar high-volume packaging environments.
* Comfort working in both cooler and warmer production areas.
* Ability to follow instructions and adapt quickly to different product lines and processes.

Work Environment

You will work on-site across one or more of five production buildings, each focused on different baked goods. The environment varies by plant: one facility focuses on muffins in a generally comfortable, not hot setting where you align trays, cup products, and handle boxing. Another plant produces crumpets and similar items, with a focus on packaging and boxing in a non-hot environment. A third plant handles cakes, bagels, and English muffins, where you may work in a hotter environment loading and unloading bagel trays and packaging cakes into boxes. A fourth plant focuses on cookies in a mildly hot environment, where you support packaging, quality assurance, and boxing activities. Work is primarily on your feet, involving standing for extended periods and performing repetitive tasks on a production line in a busy, team-oriented facility.

The pay range for this position is $20.70 - $21.30/hr.
