Talascend is currently seeking a Facilities Maintenance Technician for a contract opportunity with our client in Centerville, Indiana.

Overview

This role involves maintaining and repairing building systems and infrastructure to ensure the facility operates efficiently and safely. The technician will perform a variety of handyman tasks and maintenance duties in a large, longstanding building.

Responsibilities

Promote a safe working environment by following all safety procedures.
Complete preventative maintenance routines with proper documentation.
Record readings and make adjustments where necessary to ensure proper operation of equipment.
Use appropriate tooling to troubleshoot simple AC/DC electrical circuits.
Basic knowledge and troubleshooting of HVAC systems.
Troubleshoot and repair miscellaneous operational equipment as needed.
Perform repair, maintenance, restoration, and replacement of various building components.
Maintain and repair locks, locking mechanisms, doors, furniture, and controllers.
Maintain and complete documentation for fire safety systems and other building systems.
Repair plumbing components including toilets, urinals, sinks, and water heaters.
Prepare, prime, and paint building interior and exterior surfaces.
Perform general interior maintenance such as hanging pictures and repairing office furniture.
Complete special tasks including painting, locksmith work, tenant requests, and other maintenance duties.
Move office furniture, machinery, and equipment as needed.
Work with clients to provide exceptional customer service.
Maintain positive relationships with operations facilities teams.
Perform any other duties assigned by leadership.

Qualifications

5+ years of construction experience.
Hands-on knowledge of handyman principles, techniques, equipment, and supplies.
Ability to learn and operate basic computer programs and systems.
Friendly personality and commitment to great customer service.
Strong work ethic and highly dependable.
Ability to perform physical labor including bending, lifting over 50 lbs, and handling tools.
Basic understanding of a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
May be required to work exposed to heat, sunlight, rain, cold, daylight, and night-time hours.
