Talascend is currently seeking a Maintenance Technician for a contract opportunity with our client in Louisville, Kentucky.

Overview

The maintenance technician performs preventive and corrective maintenance on mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems across assigned facilities. The role involves inspections, repairs, and maintenance tasks to ensure optimal operation of the property and satisfaction of clients.

Responsibilities

Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on mechanical, electrical, and plumbing equipment and systems.
Assist senior mechanics with maintenance and repair efforts while independently completing assigned tasks.
Inspect and repair property interior and exterior areas, including walls, flooring, fixtures, roofing, and lighting.
Clean HVAC coils, change filters and belts, and maintain plumbing components such as toilets, urinals, sinks, and water heaters.
Maintain and repair locks, doors, furniture, and related hardware.
Complete documentation for fire extinguishers and other building systems to ensure compliance.
Prepare, prime, and paint interior and exterior surfaces and perform general handyman tasks.
Handle special tasks including locksmith work, tenant service requests, and other maintenance as assigned.
Prioritize work orders for preventive, corrective, and emergency tasks across assigned sites.
Update work order status in CMMS system and escalate issues when necessary.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent.
Minimum 1 year of related experience and/or training in carpentry, electrical, and plumbing.
Experience with hand tools and power tools.
Proficiency in basic computer applications such as MS Office, Outlook, and CMMS (Maximo).
Physical ability to lift up to 80 lbs., climb ladders up to 30 ft., and work in adverse conditions including extreme temperatures.

Preferred Qualifications

EPA Universal License.
Building Automation System (BAS) experience.
Preventative maintenance experience on HVAC equipment.

Work shift: standard business hours with on-call availability.
