Job Description
We are seeking an experienced CNC Mill Set Up Machinist to join our innovative machining department. As a vital addition to our team, you will take over programming responsibilities from the Plant Manager, allowing our department to operate more efficiently. Your role will encompass various set-up tasks, tool changes, offsets, and machine operation.
Responsibilities
* Set up and operate CNC mill equipment with minimal supervision.
* Machine aircraft parts with tolerances as tight as .0005.
* Perform critical measurements using supplied gauging.
* Maintain proper paperwork associated with planned jobs.
* Translate and understand blueprints.
* Utilize shop math skills.
* Demonstrate proficiency in the use of a wide variety of precision measuring tools.
* Work with Haas mills and controllers.
* Edit G&M codes.
* Perform setups, tool changes, and offsets.
Essential Skills
* 5+ years as a CNC Mill Set Up Machinist.
* Experience in performing setups, tool changes, and offsets.
* Knowledge of G&M code edits, including speeds and feeds.
* Ability to perform quality inspections.
* Experience working with metals, primarily stainless steel.
* Capability to hold tight tolerances in blueprint/GD&T.
* Familiarity with basic toolboxes and measuring tools, including indicators.
* Experience with prototype and short-run projects (30 - 500 pieces).
Additional Skills & Qualifications
* Experience with Haas machines/controllers.
* Aerospace experience.
* Mastercam programming skills.
* Experience with 4 Axis and 3+2 Axis machines.

Work Environment
Our facility operates under aerospace contracts, ensuring a clean and professional atmosphere. The work schedule is as follows: Monday to Friday, 6 am - 3:30/4:30 pm, with optional Saturday shifts from 6 am - 11 am. Overtime is available after 8 hours of work per day.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Wixom, MI.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr.
