Talascend is currently seeking a Mobile Maintenance Technician for a contract opportunity with our client in Madison, Wisconsin.

Overview

The maintenance technician supports operation, inspection, and maintenance processes for mechanical, electrical, and plumbing equipment and systems within assigned facilities. The role involves assisting with repairs, inspections, and various maintenance tasks to ensure the proper functioning and safety of the property.

Responsibilities

Maintain lighting system bulbs and ballasts.
Assist the operations team in the maintenance and repair of building and equipment.
Perform general interior maintenance such as hanging pictures, repairing office furniture, and installing fixtures.
Conduct minor plumbing repairs.
Complete special tasks including painting, locksmith work, and tenant service requests.
Move office furniture, machinery, and other materials as requested.
Perform facility inspections and report on conditions affecting client occupancy and operations.
Be on call for after-hours emergencies.
Follow safety procedures and maintain good housekeeping in work areas.
Ensure compliance with applicable ordinances, codes, and laws.
Properly store, use, and dispose of hazardous materials.
Participate in ongoing training programs related to technical, safety, and operational skills.
Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
Document work performance and procurement activities.
Perform other operational tasks typical of the maintenance role.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED equivalent.
Minimum of three (3) years of applicable experience in general building repair and maintenance, basic plumbing, and electrical work.
Valid state driver’s license.
Excellent communication skills in English, both oral and written.
Ability to work independently or in a team setting.
Ability to lift a minimum of 80 lbs, work on ladders up to 30 ft, and possess mechanical and electrical aptitude.
