Job Description
The Quality Technician monitors and evaluates product quality through routine inspections, measurements, and testing to ensure all products meet established specifications. This role supports production, shipping, and maintenance teams by quickly responding to quality issues, troubleshooting problems on the manufacturing floor, and helping drive corrective and preventive actions. The Quality Technician maintains accurate quality records, supports process audits, and contributes to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance product reliability and reduce scrap.
Responsibilities
* Monitor product quality through routine inspections, measurements, and testing to ensure compliance with specifications and customer requirements.
* Support production, shipping, and maintenance teams by responding promptly to quality issues and assisting in troubleshooting problems in the manufacturing plant.
* Document inspection findings thoroughly, including defects, test results, and nonconformances, to maintain reliable and traceable quality records.
* Perform root cause checks on defects or process deviations and assist in developing and implementing corrective and preventive actions.
* Verify that equipment and tools used for quality checks are properly calibrated, maintained, and functioning correctly.
* Audit processes and work areas to confirm adherence to standard operating procedures and quality requirements.
* Communicate quality concerns clearly and professionally to supervisors, operators, and engineers to prevent recurring issues.
* Support training efforts by helping operators understand quality standards, inspection methods, and proper documentation practices.
* Participate in continuous improvement activities focused on reducing scrap, improving process consistency, and strengthening product reliability.
* Assist with incoming material inspections to ensure suppliers meet required standards before materials enter production.
* Act as a first-line resource for resolving product defect issues, providing leadership and guidance to team members during problem-solving efforts.
Essential Skills
* Two or more years of hands-on experience in a quality or manufacturing environment.
* Strong quality control and quality assurance experience, including inspection of products and processes.
* Proficiency using precision measurement tools such as calipers and micrometers.
* Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
* Experience identifying and documenting nonconforming products and processes.
* Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and determine root causes of product defects or process deviations.
* Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Access.
* Experience providing leadership or serving in a team lead capacity, especially in resolving product quality issues.
* Clear and effective communication skills for collaborating with operators, supervisors, and engineers.
* Strong attention to detail and commitment to accurate documentation and recordkeeping.

* Conduct process audits and verifying adherence to standard operating procedures.
* Exposure to continuous improvement activities aimed at reducing scrap and improving consistency.
* Experience assisting with incoming material inspections and working with supplier quality standards.
* Ability to support training efforts by explaining quality standards, inspection methods, and documentation requirements to others.
* Comfort working as part of a new or growing team and contributing to the development of new processes and practices.

Work Environment
The role is based in a climate-controlled manufacturing facility, providing a comfortable and consistent work environment throughout the year. You will work closely with production, shipping, maintenance, and engineering teams on the plant floor, using precision measurement tools such as calipers and micrometers, as well as computer-based systems including Microsoft Office applications. The environment emphasizes adherence to standard operating procedures, accurate documentation, and continuous improvement practices, with a focus on safe and efficient operations.

This is a Permanent position based out of Hebron, KY.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $52000.00 - $64480.00/yr.
