Talascend is currently seeking a HVAC/Refrigeration Technician for a contract opportunity with our client in Columbus, Ohio.

Overview

This role involves operating, inspecting, and maintaining all HVAC, refrigeration, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and production equipment in assigned facilities to ensure optimal performance and longevity. The technician will focus on energy efficiency and safety while minimizing downtime through proactive repairs and record-keeping. Responsibilities include performing inspections and repairs on interior and exterior property areas and troubleshooting complex HVAC and refrigeration systems.

Responsibilities

Perform ongoing preventive maintenance and respond to repair work orders on facility mechanical, electrical, and other systems
Maintain, operate, and repair HVAC/R systems, electrical distribution, plumbing, interior and exterior building systems, and production equipment
Familiarize with equipment and methods used in daily activities
Conduct inspections and report conditions affecting occupancy and operations
Submit P-card receipts daily
Update work order statuses in real time
Utilize CMMS systems such as Corrigo for all work performed
Possess and maintain a valid state driver’s license
Be available for call-in work and perform other duties as required

Qualifications

Minimum of four (4) years of technical experience in building engineering, with a strong background in HVAC/R, plumbing, electrical, and production equipment repair and maintenance
Knowledge of system design and applications
Experience troubleshooting and maintaining commercial or supermarket refrigeration
Universal CFC recovery certification (or within 90 days of employment)

Preferred Qualifications

Experience utilizing CMMS (Work Order) systems
Working knowledge of computer applications including Word and Excel
Two years of trades school or documented apprenticeship in electrical systems, refrigeration, and HVAC
