Job Summary

The Field Project Controls Scheduler is responsible for developing, maintaining, analyzing, and reporting project schedules for large-scale engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) projects. This role supports project execution through schedule planning, progress tracking, forecasting, earned value analysis, resource planning, and risk assessment. The successful candidate will work closely with project management, construction, engineering, procurement, and project controls teams to ensure schedule accuracy, identify potential delays, and support successful project delivery.

Job Responsibilities

Develop, maintain, and update project schedules throughout the project lifecycle.
Facilitate the development and maintenance of Level I and Level II project schedules.
Lead schedule development activities, including logic sequencing, fragnet identification, and resource leveling.
Perform critical path analysis and float analysis to identify schedule risks and opportunities.
Monitor project progress and update schedules based on field and project team input.
Develop and maintain earned value management (EVM) reporting and performance metrics.
Analyze schedule performance and provide forecasts for project completion dates.
Support project teams in identifying schedule impacts and developing recovery plans when necessary.
Evaluate project risks and opportunities related to schedule performance.
Assist with change management activities by analyzing and documenting schedule impacts resulting from scope changes.
Coordinate with engineering, procurement, construction, and project management teams to ensure schedule alignment.
Develop project reporting tools, dashboards, and schedule status reports.
Support resource planning and allocation activities to optimize project execution.
Ensure scheduling activities comply with project controls standards, procedures, and best practices.
Participate in project meetings and provide schedule updates, analysis, and recommendations.
Support continuous improvement initiatives related to scheduling, forecasting, and project controls processes.
Job Requirements

Mastery of Primavera P6 scheduling software.
Strong understanding of Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) project processes and workflows.
Advanced knowledge of Critical Path Method (CPM) scheduling and analysis.
Experience developing and analyzing network logic diagrams, activity relationships, leads, and lags.
Knowledge of Earned Value Management (EVM) principles and reporting methodologies.
Experience creating and maintaining Work Breakdown Structures (WBS).
Ability to perform schedule forecasting, risk analysis, and project performance assessments.
Experience supporting change management and schedule impact analysis.
Knowledge of resource planning and allocation methodologies.
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional project teams.
Education

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or a related field preferred.
OR

Equivalent combination of education and relevant project controls, scheduling, or construction experience may be considered.
Work Experience

Minimum of 6 years of relevant planning and scheduling experience with a bachelor's degree required.
OR

Minimum of 8 years of relevant project controls, cost controls, planning, or scheduling experience without a bachelor's degree required.
Experience supporting EPC, construction, energy, infrastructure, industrial, utility, or large capital projects preferred.
Experience working in both field and project office environments preferred.
Experience with project controls, schedule management, forecasting, and earned value analysis preferred.
