Job Description
The Level III Machinist is responsible for overseeing the metal cutting, drilling, grinding, and deburring of parts in accordance with control plans and blueprint specifications. This position involves operating CNC machines, conducting quality checks, and assisting with various tasks in the machine shop.
Responsibilities
* Set up and operate CNC machines and transport materials using a forklift.
* Conduct quality checks at every step using dial gauges, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring tools.
* Load machines with raw materials and offload finished parts.
* Perform deburring and 'cut plug' operations using air-powered tools.
* Maintain production, quality, and housekeeping standards.
* Troubleshoot and solve everyday problems.
* Float between machines as needed to ensure continuous production.
Essential Skills
* Experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably with machines.
* Experience operating CNC machines.
* Proficiency in using quality measuring equipment such as calipers and micrometers.
* Experience operating sit-down and stand-up forklifts.
* Strong math skills for gauging and quality assessments.

Work Environment
The machine shop is a large, temperature-controlled facility split between assembly and machining areas. Employees work in a clean and organized environment with a relaxed dress code allowing sweatshirts, t-shirts, and hats. Safety is a priority, with PPE provided for all employees. Shifts are structured across multiple times, offering flexibility, and overtime may be required every other Saturday. Use of cell phones is restricted to break areas, and training is provided to ensure safety compliance.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Lafayette, IN.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $24.47 - $24.47/hr.
