Job Description
As a Control Panel Builder, you will work closely with project teams and experienced panel shop staff to assemble high-quality UL508A control panels, server cabinets, and test stands. You will use detailed drawings and schematics to build electrical equipment, ensuring that all work meets quality, safety, and regulatory standards while contributing to a clean, organized, and collaborative production environment.
This is a summer contract position paying $24-28/hr.
Responsibilities
* Use electrical drawings and schematics to build industrial control panels and other electrical equipment.
* Assemble mechanical units and wire devices according to plans and engineering documentation.
* Perform electrical cabinet construction, including mounting components and wiring them accurately.
* Use hand tools, wire cutters, strippers, soldering tools, and other equipment as needed to complete assemblies.
* Record and document changes on engineering drawings and update relevant records to reflect modifications.
* Adhere to all company and regulatory safety policies and procedures during panel building and assembly work.
* Collaborate and communicate effectively with co-workers and other team members to ensure smooth project execution.
* Maintain a high level of detail and quality in all panel building and electrical assembly tasks.
* Work on your feet for extended periods and safely lift materials and equipment up to fifty pounds.
* Contribute to maintaining an organized, clean, and efficient panel shop environment.
Essential Skills
* 2-year technical degree or at least 2 years of experience in panel building or electronics.
* Hands-on experience wiring and building industrial control panels based on schematics and drawings.
* Proficiency in electrical assembly and panel building techniques.
* Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and engineering documentation.
* Skilled in using hand tools, wire cutters, strippers, and related equipment for electrical assembly work.
* Experience with soldering in an electrical assembly or panel building environment.
* Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
* Effective verbal communication skills to work collaboratively with co-workers and other stakeholders.
* Ability to stand for long periods and safely lift up to fifty pounds.
* Consistent adherence to safety policies and regulatory requirements in a production environment.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
* Experience working with industrial control panels, server cabinets, or test stand assembly.
* Experience working in a smaller, organized, and clean shop environment.
* Familiarity with UL508A control panel standards and best practices.
* Ability to accurately document changes on engineering drawings and maintain updated records.
* Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks in a production setting.
* Reliability and punctuality for 1st shift work (8:00 AM 4:30 PM).

Work Environment
This role is based in a smaller, climate-controlled shop that is organized and clean throughout the facility, providing a comfortable and efficient workspace for panel building and electrical assembly. The position operates on a 1st shift schedule from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. You will work with a variety of electrical assembly tools, including hand tools, wire cutters, strippers, and soldering equipment, in a collaborative environment that emphasizes safety, quality, and cleanliness.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $36.00/hr.
