Job Description

This role focuses on maintaining and troubleshooting electrical and mechanical systems that support a wide range of machinery and conveyor equipment in a manufacturing plant. You will perform electrical troubleshooting across the facility, including production equipment and building systems such as lighting, while working with various PLC platforms and relay logic. The position operates on a rotating 12-hour day shift schedule and requires a hands-on technician who can support continuous operations through effective maintenance, repair, and preventive care.

Responsibilities
* Perform electrical troubleshooting and repair on industrial equipment and facility systems, including lighting and other building electrical components.
* Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical systems and equipment such as conveyors, hydraulic systems, pneumatic systems, pumps, gearboxes, and 3-phase motors.
* Diagnose and resolve issues in electrical systems, including 240V and 480V circuits, 3-phase power, control panels, drives, sensors, photoeyes, relays, and box switches.
* Work with PLC and relay logic to troubleshoot control issues on production and conveyor systems.
* Conduct preventive maintenance on machinery, conveyors, hydraulic pumps, and related equipment to minimize downtime and extend equipment life.
* Inspect, test, and calibrate instrumentation and electrical components to ensure proper operation and compliance with plant standards.
* Install, wire, and modify electrical components, including 3-phase motors, control panels, and associated hardware.
* Respond to equipment breakdowns promptly, identify root causes, and implement effective corrective actions.
* Collaborate with operations and other maintenance personnel to plan and execute repairs and maintenance activities safely and efficiently.
* Document maintenance activities, repairs, and parts usage to support reliability and continuous improvement efforts.

Essential Skills
* Minimum of approximately 5 years of industrial maintenance or industrial electrician experience, with consideration for candidates with slightly less experience on a case-by-case basis.
* Demonstrated electrical troubleshooting experience on industrial equipment and facility systems, including 240V and 480V circuits.
* Hands-on experience troubleshooting and repairing mechanical systems, including conveyors, hydraulics, 3-phase motors, pumps, and gearboxes.
* Ability to troubleshoot and repair electrical systems and equipment, including control panels, drives, sensors, photoeyes, relays, and box switches.
* Experience with PLC and relay logic troubleshooting in an industrial environment.
* Proficiency in working with 3-phase power systems and wiring 3-phase motors.
* Strong understanding of preventive maintenance practices for industrial machinery and support systems.
* Ability to read and interpret electrical diagrams, schematics, and technical documentation.
* Comfort working in a manufacturing environment with rotating 12-hour shifts and extended work hours.
* Solid problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently to diagnose and resolve equipment issues.

Additional Skills & Qualifications
* Industrial electrician background with PLC exposure is preferred.
* Maintenance technician experience with strong electrical troubleshooting skills is highly valued.
* Experience working with conveyor systems, hydraulic pumps, pneumatic components, and associated control devices.
* Familiarity with instrumentation and basic calibration of sensors and control devices.
* Ability to wire and configure control panels, including box switches and relay-based control circuits.
* Experience in a high-volume manufacturing or industrial production environment.
* Willingness to work overtime and extended hours to support production needs.
* Strong communication skills to coordinate work with operations and other maintenance team members.

Work Environment

This position is based in a manufacturing facility that operates on a rotating 12-hour day shift schedule from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., following a 3 days on / 2 days off / 2 days on / 3 days off rotation. You can anticipate working more than 50 hours per week, including overtime as needed to support production demands. The environment includes industrial machinery, conveyor systems, hydraulic and pneumatic equipment, and various electrical and control systems. Work is hands-on and may involve standing for extended periods, working around moving equipment, and navigating a busy plant floor. Standard industrial safety practices apply, including appropriate personal protective equipment in accordance with facility policies.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Richland, MS.
Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $31.00/hr.
