Job Description

This afternoon-shift warehouse role combines order picking, product replenishment, and material handling using a variety of powered industrial trucks. You operate double pallet forklifts, dockstockers, and power pallet jacks, while using RF scanners and computer systems to support inventory, data entry, and quality control activities. The position involves regular heavy lifting of up to 50 lbs and requires flexibility to assist in other warehouse departments as operational needs arise.

Responsibilities
* Operate double pallet forklifts, dockstockers, and power pallet jacks safely and efficiently to move, store, and retrieve products.
* Perform accurate order picking to fulfill customer and internal orders according to pick tickets and RF scanner instructions.
* Replenish product in racking and storage locations, ensuring stock is available and properly positioned for picking.
* Use RF scanners to scan products, locations, and pallets, maintaining accurate inventory and movement records.
* Complete computer-based tasks, including data entry, inventory updates, and basic quality control documentation.
* Receive inbound shipments, unload products, verify quantities, and stage or put away items in designated locations.
* Perform put-away activities by transporting products from receiving areas to appropriate warehouse storage locations.
* Support shipping activities by preparing pallets, organizing outbound loads, and staging orders as required.
* Conduct or assist with inventory counts and cycle counts to maintain accurate stock records.
* Lift and move products weighing up to 50 lbs regularly, using proper lifting techniques and safety practices.
* Assist in other warehouse departments and tasks when forklifts or equipment are not available, including cleaning, stacking, and general material handling.
* Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area, following warehouse safety guidelines and procedures.
* Work collaboratively with team members and leads to meet productivity, accuracy, and service targets across the warehouse.

Essential Skills
* At least 1 year of experience operating reach-style forklifts; experience does not need to be recent.
* Proficiency operating dockstockers in a warehouse environment.
* Hands-on experience using power pallet jacks (including walkie and single power pallet units).
* Ability to perform regular heavy lifting of up to 50 lbs safely and consistently.
* Experience using RF scanners for order picking, receiving, shipping, and inventory control.
* Practical experience with order picking in a distribution or warehouse setting.
* Experience with receiving inbound shipments and performing put-away tasks.
* Basic computer skills for data entry, inventory updates, and quality control activities.
* Familiarity with warehouse operations, including distribution, stacking, cleaning, and general material handling.
* Willingness and ability to support other warehouse departments when forklift work is not available.
* Comfort working with sit-down and counterbalance forklifts and reach trucks, as applicable to operational needs.

Additional Skills & Qualifications
* ALBERTA forklift certification is an asset.
* Experience with deep reach forklifts is considered an advantage.
* Prior experience with cycle counting and inventory control processes.
* Background working in multi-client or third-party logistics warehouse environments.
* Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work methods in a fast-paced warehouse setting.

Work Environment

The role is based in a warehouse located in the southeast area of Calgary. You work a Monday to Friday afternoon shift from 2:30 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. The operation uses a range of warehouse technologies and equipment, including double pallet forklifts, dockstockers, power pallet jacks, reach trucks, sit-down and counterbalance forklifts, RF scanners, and computer systems for inventory and data entry. The environment is fast-paced and can be somewhat unstructured, with a culture that focuses on finding ways to complete tasks rather than strictly following rigid processes. You work closely with a small shift team and a designated team lead, contributing to day-to-day distribution, receiving, shipping, and inventory activities in an active warehouse setting.
