Job Description
The Injection Molding Technician installs, sets up, processes, and troubleshoots injection molding machines to maximize production efficiency and maintain consistent product quality. This role operates and adjusts auxiliary equipment and robotic systems, performs job changeovers, and follows detailed work instructions, specifications, work orders, and production documentation to ensure accurate and efficient manufacturing. The technician identifies and resolves process and quality issues, verifies bills of materials, records downtime and scrap, and implements proper material and product containment procedures. Using precision measuring instruments and production tools, the technician communicates tooling and equipment concerns through established work order systems, supports continuous production improvement, and maintains a safe, clean, and organized work environment while adhering to all safety policies, housekeeping standards, and company procedures.
Responsibilities
* Install, set up, and process injection molding machines to achieve optimal production efficiency and product quality.
* Perform mold setups, mold changes, and job changeovers according to established procedures and production schedules.
* Operate and adjust auxiliary equipment and robotic systems to support efficient molding operations.
* Follow work instructions, specifications, work orders, and production documentation to ensure accurate and consistent manufacturing.
* Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve process and quality issues related to injection molding and plastic components.
* Verify bills of materials and ensure correct materials and components are used for each production run.
* Record downtime, scrap, and other production data accurately to support continuous improvement and reporting.
* Implement proper material and product containment procedures to prevent quality issues and ensure traceability.
* Use precision measuring instruments and production tools to monitor part quality and machine performance.
* Communicate tooling, equipment, and process concerns through established work order and reporting systems.
* Support continuous production improvement initiatives by suggesting and implementing process enhancements.
* Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area by following all safety policies, housekeeping standards, and company procedures.
* Collaborate with production, quality, and maintenance teams to ensure smooth and efficient operations across all assigned shifts.
Essential Skills
* Hands-on experience with injection molding machines, including setup and processing.
* Proficiency in performing mold setups, mold changes, and job changeovers in a production environment.
* Ability to troubleshoot injection molding process issues and resolve quality concerns related to plastic components.
* Experience operating and adjusting auxiliary equipment and robotic systems used in injection molding operations.
* Ability to read and follow work instructions, specifications, work orders, and production documentation accurately.
* Skill in using precision measuring instruments and production tools to verify part quality and process parameters.
* Familiarity with recording downtime, scrap, and production data to support process control and improvement.
* Knowledge of proper material handling and containment procedures to maintain product quality.
* Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining product quality and process consistency.
* Ability to work safely and follow established safety policies, procedures, and housekeeping standards.

* Experience working with plastic materials in a molding or manufacturing environment.
* Worked in quality-focused production environments with emphasis on consistency and efficiency.
* Comfort working with structured work order systems and communicating equipment or tooling issues.

Work Environment
The role operates in a very clean and organized manufacturing environment focused on safety, quality, and efficiency. Normal shift structures are in place, with available schedules including a 2nd shift from 6:00 p.m. to 4:30 a.m., Monday through Thursday, and a 3rd shift from 8:00 p.m. to 6:30 a.m., Monday through Thursday. The technician works with injection molding machines, auxiliary equipment, and robotic systems, using precision measuring instruments and production tools as part of daily activities. The environment emphasizes adherence to safety policies, housekeeping standards, and company procedures to maintain a safe and orderly production floor.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $72800.00 - $79040.00/yr.
