Job Description
The Production Lead 2nd Shift oversees daily operations on multiple food production lines, operating and coordinating several pieces of equipment, and supporting the assembly and disassembly of line machinery. This role arranges and guides labor across the lines, documents key production data, and ensures that all team members follow established safety, quality, and production procedures in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
* Operate multiple pieces of production line equipment across different areas during the 2nd shift.
* Lead and participate in the assembly and disassembly of production line equipment as required by shift assignment.
* Arrange and coordinate labor on food production lines to meet production goals and maintain workflow.
* Document production downtime, machine setting changes, and materials used during each production run accurately and in a timely manner.
* Train production line employees on proper procedures, equipment operation, and best practices.
* Explain tasks clearly and answer questions from production line employees to ensure understanding and consistency.
* Communicate effectively with various levels of leadership to report issues, progress, and needs on the production floor.
* Follow and enforce company procedures for safety, quality, and production throughout the shift.
* Monitor line performance and escalate equipment or process issues to supervisors or maintenance as needed.
* Support continuous improvement efforts by identifying opportunities to increase efficiency and reduce downtime.
Essential Skills
* Minimum 2 years of manufacturing production experience within a food manufacturing environment.
* Experience working in a fast-paced production or manufacturing setting.
* At least 6 months in a leadership role, such as team lead or line lead, supervising approximately 1030 employees.
* Ability to operate multiple pieces of production line equipment and adapt to different areas as needed.
* Ability to lead the assembly and disassembly of production line equipment.
* Strong ability to document downtime, setting changes, and materials used during production runs.
* Ability to train, coach, and support production line employees effectively.
* Clear and confident communication skills with production staff and leadership.
* Ability to follow and uphold company procedures for safety, quality, and production.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
* Previous experience in the food industry is preferred.
* Experience in production, supervision, or production management.
* Experience as a machine operator or in general production within manufacturing.
* Demonstrated ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple tasks on the production floor.

Work Environment
Current expectations of working six days per week with openings across all three shifts. The position is based in a food manufacturing facility, operating in a fast-paced production environment with multiple lines and machinery running simultaneously. You will spend most of your time on the production floor, coordinating teams and working around equipment, with a strong emphasis on safety, cleanliness, and adherence to food manufacturing standards.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of San Antonio, TX.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr.
