$20/hour + $1 differential (potential of up to $4/hr raise in 1st full year)

2nd Shift 3p-11p

Job Description

This role operates multiple machines in a finishing department, including die cutting equipment and a liquid dip section. You will start by running and monitoring machines to ensure smooth, safe, and efficient production, and over time you will receive training to perform machine setup as well. The position requires careful attention to quality, the ability to make mechanical adjustments, and confident use of computer systems for data entry and quality documentation.

Responsibilities
* Operate multiple machines in the finishing department, including die cutting and liquid dip equipment, once they are set up and running.
* Observe machine operation continuously to detect malfunctions, irregularities, or quality issues.
* Perform machine adjustments or minor repairs, such as opening valves, changing forming and cutting dies, setting guides, and adjusting temperature controls and other machine-related functions.
* Record and inspect all quality checks using computer databases, including weights and other related quality standard specifications.
* Ensure all aspects of quality standards are met by performing required quality checks, making necessary adjustments, and accurately recording data.
* Lubricate and sanitize equipment as required to maintain proper functioning and cleanliness.
* Perform troubleshooting and minor mechanical adjustments, and carry out preventive maintenance tasks to reduce downtime.
* Calculate and enter basic mathematical data into process monitors and quality systems to support accurate production and quality records.
* Operate machinery in accordance with proper safety standards, including consistent application of lockout/tagout procedures.
* Handle materials and operate related equipment, such as packaging machinery and forklifts, to support production flow.
* Conduct visual inspections of products and packaging to verify conformance to specifications.
* Assist with machine setup, calibration, and changeovers as training and experience increase.
* Follow instructions from supervisors and collaborate with team members to maintain an efficient and safe work area.
* Perform other duties as assigned to support production, quality, and safety goals.

Essential Skills
* Experience operating production or manufacturing machinery, including the ability to run multiple machines at once.
* Ability to perform basic machine setup, calibration, and adjustments, with a willingness to learn full setup responsibilities over time.
* Knowledge and practical use of lockout/tagout safety procedures when working on or around machinery.
* Ability to use measuring tools such as tape measures and calipers to verify product dimensions and quality.
* Proficiency with basic math for data entry into process monitors, quality specifications, and computer-based systems.
* Comfort using computer programs for data entry, quality documentation, and machinery-related records.
* Ability to endure long periods of standing and walking, and sufficient physical strength to push, pull, and lift heavy objects as required by the role.
* Knowledge of tools, machines, and safety precautions in a manufacturing environment.
* Strong attention to detail for visual inspection and quality control of products.
* Capability to follow safety standards consistently while operating machinery.
* Willingness and ability to work 2nd shift (3:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.), Monday through Friday.

Additional Skills & Qualifications
* Experience with machine operation in a finishing, packaging, or similar production environment.
* Experience in machine setup, including changing dies, setting guides, and adjusting temperature controls.
* Hands-on experience using calipers, tape measures, and other precision measuring tools.
* Familiarity with machine calibration and preventive maintenance practices.
* Experience with packaging processes and equipment in a manufacturing setting.
* Forklift operation experience or comfort with material handling equipment.
* Ability to multitask effectively, managing multiple machines or tasks simultaneously.
* Energetic, hardworking approach with a strong sense of ownership and responsibility.
* Ability to use creativity and initiative to recommend or implement improvements in efficiency or safety within the work area.

Work Environment

This position is based in a typical manufacturing environment that is not climate controlled, so temperatures may vary with the seasons. The facility is organized and well lit, providing good visibility for machine operation and quality inspection. You will work on 2nd shift from 3:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. The role involves extended periods of standing and walking, as well as regular pushing, pulling, and lifting of heavy objects. You will work with production machinery, die cutting equipment, liquid dip systems, packaging equipment, and material handling tools such as forklifts, while following established safety procedures and standards.

This is a Permanent position based out of York, PA.
Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $21.00/hr.
