Maintenance Engineer (JP-006169319)

Join a mechanical testing laboratory as a hands-on technician, performing mechanical tests in accordance with relevant codes and standards. You will work under the guidance of engineers and experienced technicians, operating mechanical and hydraulic equipment, supporting robotics and welding-related projects, and ensuring accurate documentation of all test activities.
Responsibilities
* Perform mechanical tests in the lab following specific and general instructions from engineers and other technicians, ensuring compliance with applicable codes and standards.
* Set up mechanical and hydraulic test equipment and fixtures safely and correctly to meet test requirements.
* Maintain accurate, legible, and complete records of mechanical test setups, procedures, and results in both paper and electronic formats.
* Interact professionally with engineers and external customers to understand test objectives and deliver results within agreed timelines.
* Collaborate closely with other team members to plan, coordinate, and execute mechanical testing operations efficiently.
* Use basic computer operations and data acquisition software to monitor tests, record data, and generate reports.
* Support maintenance activities on mechanical, CNC, and robotic systems, including basic PLC troubleshooting and work with Fanuc controls as needed.
* Apply mechanical, welding, and maintenance knowledge to identify issues, suggest improvements, and ensure reliable test execution.
* Maintain a clean, organized, and presentable work area, adhering to lab safety practices and housekeeping standards.
* Follow all laboratory safety procedures, including proper use of tools, equipment, and personal protective gear.
* Communicate clearly with team members about test status, equipment issues, and scheduling needs to keep projects on track.

Essential Skills
* High school diploma or equivalent.
* Experience working with mechanical and hydraulic equipment in a lab, manufacturing, or industrial environment.
* Ability to follow detailed written and verbal instructions from engineers and technicians.
* Familiarity with basic computer operations, including data entry and file management.
* Experience using data acquisition software or similar tools to capture and record test information.
* Strong attention to detail to ensure accurate test setup, execution, and documentation.
* Ability to work collaboratively in a team-focused environment and communicate effectively with colleagues and customers.
* Commitment to maintaining a clean, safe, and organized work area.

Additional Skills & Qualifications
* Welding skills and knowledge, particularly related to welding technology and processes.
* Exposure to mechanical maintenance activities, including working with CNC equipment.
* Experience with robotics and robotic controls in an industrial or lab setting.
* Basic PLC troubleshooting skills to support equipment diagnostics and maintenance.
* Familiarity with Fanuc control systems or similar industrial control platforms.
* Interest in research and development environments and project-based technical work.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Columbus, OH.
Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $35.00/hr.
