System One is seeking an experienced Instrumentation & Controls Supervisor to lead I&C maintenance and support operations at a large multi-utility generation and district energy facility in Rochester, NY.

This is a hands-on leadership role for an experienced I&C technician who understands industrial power plant controls, DCS, PLCs, instrumentation, and troubleshooting.

WHAT YOU'LL DO
Coordinate the I&C team to meet plant maintenance and operational needs.
Install, maintain, repair, and calibrate process instrumentation for pressure, flow, temperature, and analytical systems.
Maintain pneumatic and electronic control valves, damper drives, and other final control elements.
Troubleshoot control issues involving motor starters and electrical enclosures.
Maintain and calibrate instruments, test equipment, I/O, power systems, PLCs, and DCS hardware.
Maintain and edit PLC and DCS control programming.
Administer the plant DCS, including access and change control.
Reconfigure plant controls and operating graphics for improvements and corrections.
Coordinate outside contractors and equipment suppliers.
Maintain physical security of sensitive control system equipment.
Identify and implement opportunities to improve plant efficiency.
Provide technical guidance and direction to I&C team members.
REQUIRED
10+ years of experience with industrial utility or power plant control systems.
Associate degree in Engineering Technology, vocational certification, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience maintaining DCS and PLC systems.
Strong electrical and mechanical aptitude.
Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Ability to read electrical schematics, circuit diagrams, and technical drawings.
Valid driver's license and proof of insurance.
IDEAL BACKGROUND

Experience with industrial utility equipment such as:

Boilers | Turbines | Generators | Chillers | Cooling Towers | Air Compressors

Additional experience with:

Instrumentation and control systems
Pneumatic and electronic instrumentation
PLCs and DCS
Copper and fiber network media
Industrial communications/networking
Windows PCs and Microsoft Office
WORK ENVIRONMENT

This is a hands-on industrial plant environment. Work may involve:

Hot, cold, noisy, dirty, or chemical areas
Basements, rooftops, cooling towers, and outdoor locations
All weather conditions
Boom lifts, scissor lifts, forklifts, and other industrial equipment
Climbing, crawling, stair climbing, and strenuous physical activity

$85,000 – $105,000 base salary
