Job Description

We are seeking a skilled CNC Mill Operator to join our team, specializing in horizontal mills with Makino Machines and Fanuc Controllers. This role involves setting up and operating CNC mills, focusing on low-volume production with numerous setups per day. Strong setup experience is essential, as the programs are auto-loaded by engineering, eliminating the need for programming adjustments.

Responsibilities
* Set up and operate multiple CNC machines and other machinery to produce precision metal parts.
* Perform basic setup and operate CNC mills, focusing on Makino Machines with Fanuc Controllers.
* Conduct 1st piece inspections and potentially train others in these processes.
* Follow detailed work instructions to maintain production efficiency and accuracy.
* Interpret engineering blueprints and possess basic GD&T knowledge.
* Use various gauges to inspect finished products to ensure compliance with quality standards.
* Record and maintain data per standard operating procedures.

Essential Skills
* Experience in setting up and operating CNC mills, specifically Makino Machines with Fanuc Controllers.
* Strong troubleshooting skills.
* Proficiency in interpreting blueprints and basic GD&T knowledge.
* Ability to perform changeovers and adjust machines.
* Experience with machine operation, including milling and lathe operations.

Additional Skills & Qualifications
* Experience in manual material removal and sub-assembly operations.
* Familiarity with tooling, calipers, and other precision measurement tools.
* Capability to perform quality control using various gauges.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Rockford, IL.
Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $44.00/hr.
