Job Description

This role focuses on safely handling materials, operating forklifts, and supporting warehouse operations by loading and unloading shipments, staging inventory, and ensuring accurate order fulfillment. You will work with both sit-down and stand-up forklifts, use RF scanners, and complete necessary paperwork in English to keep materials moving efficiently and accurately through the facility.

Responsibilities
* Load and unload shipments safely and efficiently using forklifts and other material handling equipment.
* Lift and move materials weighing up to 50 pounds throughout the shift.
* Operate sit-down and stand-up forklifts in a safe, controlled, and compliant manner.
* Gather materials from designated locations and stage them in the proper areas for production, shipping, or storage.
* Use RF scanners to locate, pick, and track inventory accurately.
* Maintain accurate inventory by staging, organizing, and tracking materials in the warehouse.
* Read and complete paperwork in English to document shipments, inventory movements, and material transactions.
* Verify orders and materials to ensure they match documentation and are routed to the correct locations.
* Follow established safety procedures and warehouse guidelines while operating equipment and handling materials.
* Maintain a clean and organized work area to support efficient warehouse operations.

Essential Skills
* At least 2 years of forklift operating experience.
* Proficiency operating sit-down forklifts.
* Experience operating stand-up forklifts.
* Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds throughout the shift.
* Material handling experience in a warehouse or production environment.
* Ability to read and write in English to complete paperwork and follow written instructions.
* Experience using RF scanners for picking and inventory tracking.
* Attention to detail to ensure orders and materials go to the correct locations.
* Strong awareness of safety practices when operating forklifts and handling materials.

Additional Skills & Qualifications
* Experience staging inventory for production, shipping, or storage.
* Experience in production or warehouse operations.
* Comfort working in a climate-controlled facility that may become warm during summer months.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Work Environment

This is a first-shift position with hours from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday. The role is based in a warehouse or production facility that is climate controlled, although it can become warm during the summer. You will regularly operate sit-down and stand-up forklifts and use RF scanners to manage inventory. The work involves frequent lifting of up to 50 pounds and moving materials throughout the facility. The dress code requires jeans and closed-toe shoes, supporting both safety and comfort in a hands-on material handling environment.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of South Bend, IN.
Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $17.00/hr.
