We are seeking a Wastewater Treatment Technician to support the operation, monitoring, and maintenance of an industrial wastewater treatment system for a food manufacturing facility. This position is responsible for ensuring the wastewater system operates safely, efficiently, and in compliance with environmental regulations. The ideal candidate will have experience with wastewater processes, basic mechanical maintenance, and laboratory testing.
Responsibilities
* Operate, monitor, and maintain wastewater treatment equipment and processes to ensure compliance with environmental standards and permit requirements.
* Inspect pumps, motors, blowers, tanks, valves, and related treatment equipment to identify operating issues, abnormal conditions, or potential failures.
* Monitor system performance through gauges, meters, SCADA systems, and process control equipment.
* Collect wastewater samples and perform routine laboratory testing, including COD, TSS, Total Solids, pH, and other process analyses.
* Record and maintain accurate operational data, testing results, maintenance activities, and regulatory documentation.
* Adjust chemical feed systems and treatment processes based on operating conditions and laboratory results.
* Assist with preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and lubrication of wastewater treatment equipment.
* Submit maintenance work requests and coordinate repairs with maintenance personnel and outside service providers when necessary.
* Monitor sludge handling operations and coordinate waste removal activities as required.
* Communicate system status, operating concerns, and shift handoff information to supervisors and team members.
* Identify opportunities to improve system efficiency, reliability, safety, and environmental performance.
* Maintain compliance with all environmental, safety, food manufacturing, and plant operating procedures.
Essential Skills
* Working knowledge of wastewater treatment systems and processes.
* Understanding of basic chemistry and microbiological principles related to wastewater treatment.
* Mechanical aptitude with the ability to perform basic equipment maintenance and troubleshooting.
* Ability to read gauges, meters, process diagrams, and operating procedures.
* Proficiency with Microsoft Office and computerized maintenance or operational systems.

* Attention to detail and recordkeeping skills.
* Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively with operations and maintenance teams.
* Strong verbal and written communication skills.
* Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Work Environment
The work is conducted in a wastewater treatment plant within a food manufacturing facility. The schedule includes Sunday to Tuesday from 5AM to 5PM, and Wednesday from 5AM to 11AM.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Pacific, MO.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $26.00 - $36.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
