THIS IS A DIRECT HIRE ROLE THAT REQUIRES RELOCATION TO JUPITER, FL AREA. RELO ASSISTANCE PROVIDED.
The essential functions of the job include, but are not limited to, the following:
Interact with team of aerothermal and performance engineers to define and develop bestapproaches and architecture philosophies for GT performance and health monitoring models.
Continuously refine monitoring models to mimic real life engine behavior, minimize false alarms,and predict GT alarms before they occur.
Analyze engine data to determine root causes and corrective actions. Leverage GT experts(controls, preformance, design, etc.) for assistance as required.
Clearly communicate corrective actions to customers via e-mails and/or phone calls.
Create automated tools and templates as necessary for recurring tasks to improve team responsiveness and productivity.
Build databases of known field issues and their indicators for reference during troubleshooting.
U.S. and international travel may be required.
Might occasionally involve working outside of normal business hours assisting customers.
Facilitate and actively work to ensure all quality documentation is correct, complete, timely and recorded as appropriate.
Bachelors or Masterís degree in Mechanical, Aeronautical or Environmental/Combustion Engineering, or related field and minimum 3 years of progressive experience in aerothermal design, analysis, and manufacturing industrial/aircraft gas turbine engine components.
Experience (Essential Functions)
Utilize appropriate design/analysis tools as necessary, 3D modeling(Pro/ENGINEER), data gathering and reduction (PI, MS Excel, MATLAB), scheduling (MS Project and Visio), reporting (MS PowerPoint) and others.
Advanced level of MATLAB and VBA programmation skills highly desirable, Java and others a plus. Strong computer skills.
Exceptional organization, communication and planning skills.
Experience working with a multi-disciplinary team of engineers consisting of controls, aerothermal, structural and mechanical design engineers.
Experience with Industrial GT general architecture and design, knowledge of GT support systems and associated limits and alarms a plus.
Experience with GT control systems (GE, MHI and/or Siemens) and knowledge of general GT control philosophy a plus.
Candidate should have strong analytical and problem solving skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks, priorities and deadlines. Strong project management skills highly desirable.
Candidate should have cross functionality knowledge in order to be able to work and coordinate the efforts of an multi-discplinary team.
Multilingual candidates are a plus.
