DESCRIPTION OF WORK SPECIFIC:
Position supports the SHS&Q organization in drafting, reviewing, revising, editing, and correcting SHS&Q technical documents and procedures.
Assist existing staff with official correspondence and support organizational administrative functions on an as needed basis.
Maintain organizational writers style guide to enable consistency and improve published documentation.
Must have the ability to reformat, restructure, and rewrite documents in a grammatically and technically correct manner without compromising technical aspects.
Must be able to manage priorities to ensure the most significant documents receive appropriate priority without compromising overall commitment dates.
Must be able to evaluate organizational documents for common errors, weaknesses, and ineffective message delivery mechanisms to determine where wholesale training should be applied to raise the standard of excellence for authors.
BS/BA experience with 2 to 8 years experience or equivalent combination of education and experience with emphasis in English, Literature, Journalism, Communication, Language Arts, and/or Writing.
Working knowledge of Microsoft word
2-5 years experience as a writer, editor preferred
