Contract / Temp to Direct / Direct Hire: Contract
System One Services is currently seeking an Electrical Engineer for a 3-month contract assignment located in Stonington, CT. Per Diem and Mob/Demob are available, if applicable.
Electrical Engineer Education Required: BS in electrical engineering from an accredited university. (MSEE and Professional Engineer-in-Training (EIT or PE) are desirable.)
Electrical Engineer Experience Required: 5 – 10 years of experience with at least 2 – 8 of those years with commercial nuclear power. Experience with operating plant procedures, processes and nuclear plant licensing is required. Knowledge of electrical power distribution systems (switchgear, motor control centers, circuit breakers, etc.) and familiarity with electrical load flow, voltage drop and short circuit calculation methodology is required.
MUST have ETAP training or experience. Dominion experience is preferred.
Other Qualifications: All applicants must possess excellent and clear verbal and written communication skills as well as presentation skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office software, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is required. Effective time management skills are required as position may involve working on several projects concurrently. Ability to pass security and drug screening, and maintain unescorted nuclear plant access is required. Experience in reviewing and checking designs, drawings and data prepared by other engineers is required. Past experience with, and extensive knowledge of nuclear power plant electrical systems and engineering is required. Successful candidate will be required to understand and comply with company policies, procedures and processes. Overtime work is required at times. Travel is required to client sites with occasional periods of field/office work.
Position Synopsis: Successful candidate will be relied upon to perform a variety of engineering and design activities involving power plant upgrades and/or new power plant projects. Successful candidate must have past experience with evaluation, selection and application of standard engineering methods, techniques, procedures and criteria, having used independent judgment in performing calculations, modifications and designs and ability to present and justify modification packages to quality and safety reviews. Individual will possess superior technical knowledge of electrical discipline and ability to work on project teams with other engineers to evaluate conditions, propose modifications and develop design changes which will improve plant performance, safety and reliability. Individual must have ability to interface and work with equipment vendors as needed.
