Talascend is currently seeking a Project Manager for a direct hire opportunity with our client located in San Antonio, TX.
Responsible for developing, managing, and executing the assigned project plan, providing direction and guidance to a team of high-performing nondestructive examination (NDE) personnel and other groups as necessary to complete a project within schedule and budgetary constraints. Serves as the primary point of contact for both the team and the customer, managing the schedule, budget, performance, and quality of the project.
Manages the day-to-day operational aspects of the project scope, working with management to assign appropriate staff and responsibilities and monitoring their progress to ensure milestones are achieved and deadlines are met.
Coordinates and implements project specifications, making detailed plans to accomplish customer goals within the designated time constraints.
Reviews and revises the project plan as necessary, incorporating any changes, as necessary.
Identifies and monitors any risks and resolves any issues, executing appropriate response plans.
Holds regular project meetings, ensuring clear understanding of any updates or changes to the scope of work.
Monitors the project budget and costs, providing management and the client with periodic updates and identifying, in advance, if additional project funding is necessary.
Ensures timely and accurate invoicing.
Continually seeks innovative methods for improving team performance and profitability, staying abreast of market demand and available resources.
Prepares bids, proposals, and contracts for company approval.
Ensures compliance with all company and statutory procedures, standards, and specifications.
Leads a team of 5-15 personnel during project activities on site.
Minimum of 4 years of experience in project management role.
Minimum of 5 years of experience working in nuclear and NDE fields.
Excellent problem solving and time management skills.
Good mechanical aptitude and knowledge.
Proficient in Microsoft Office.
Strong project management skills.
Adaptable to change in learning environment.
Willing to travel domestically and internationally.
Ability to satisfy all Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) security requirements to obtain unescorted access to U.S. nuclear power plants.
Professional Project Management certification.
Typical working hours are from 8am to 5pm, Monday to Friday, although extended night and weekend shifts may be required on occasion.
Generally works in an indoor, office/laboratory environment.
May be occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, climate/weather variations.
May be occasionally exposed to acetone, solvents, grease, cutting fluids, fumes, airborne particles, and toxic and/or caustic chemicals.
May be occasionally exposed to ionizing radiation.
Must be able to stand or sit for extended periods of time.
Must be able to walk, sit, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
Must be able to occasionally lift and/or push up to 40 lbs.
Must meet vision requirements for the job, including near vision, color vision, and depth perception.
Bachelorís degree in engineering or related technical field required. Master's degree in engineering or business administration preferred.
