Talascend is currently seeking a Director of Operations for a direct hire opportunity with our client located in San Antonio, TX.
Responsible for the leadership, management, and direction of the company's operations within the context of non-destructive examination (NDE) and engineering services. Works closely with the President and other managers to create a long-term and short-term strategic plan surrounding the development of products and NDE services to promote revenue, profitability, and growth.
Presides over the workforce, ensuring that departmental goals and budgets are established and resources are properly allocated.
Oversees company operations to ensure production efficiency, quality, service, and costeffective management of resources and assets, especially with regard to safety and the environment.
Performs financial forecasts, develops cost-containment strategies, and oversees the management of personnel.
Builds and sustains a diverse, market competitive organization that demonstrates company values, contributes to cross-organizational collaboration, and inspires innovation and growth.
Leads by example to ensure that the team understands and adheres to company standards and operating procedures.
Serves as point-of-contact for customers, managing customer relationships at all levels of the organization, from line managers to the executive team.
Provides direction with regard to business development, customer retention, and the establishment of external strategic alliances.
Participates in NDE industry meetings and stays current on industry issues and forecasts.
Direct Reports: Manages a team of 6-10 managers.
Minimum of 10 years of related experience as Operations/Project Manager for a company serving the energy market(s) with services and products.
NDE Certification and experience.
Experience in the nuclear industry with an emphasis on non-destructive examination (NDE) of critical components and systems.
Ability to maintain composure in high pressure situations in order to adeptly manage critical path work.
Significant exposure to core areas of operations, sales, marketing, project management, human resources, quality assurance/quality control, and NDE.
Willing to travel domestically and internationally.
Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems.
Demonstrated ability to lead programs and project.s
Ability to satisfy all Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) security requirements to obtain unescorted access to U.S. nuclear power plants.
Typical working hours are from 8am to 5pm, Monday to Friday, although extended night and weekend shifts may be required on occasion.
Generally works in an indoor, office environment.
Occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, climate/weather variations.
Occasionally exposed to ionizing radiation.
Must be able to stand or sit for extended periods of time.
Must be able to walk, sit, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
Must be able to occasionally lift and/or push up to 40 lbs.
Must meet vision requirements for the job, including near vision, color vision, and depth perception.
Bachelorís degree in engineering or related technical field required. Master's degree in engineering or business administration preferred.
