SHINE is immediately seeking an Electrical and Instrument & Control Manager, reporting directly to the VP Engineering, with a strong background and driven personality to manage the electrical systems for Mo-99 production.

The Electrical and Instrument & Control Manager will be responsible for leading and managing the electrical systems designed to operate the isotopes production facility. Key responsibilities include driving the development of an innovative control system for a new radioisotope production and processing system based on a hybrid fusion/fission subcritical assembly, leading the electrical equipment design, review of all design and development of new digital and analog control systems including distributed control systems, programmable logic controllers, supervisory control and data acquisition systems.

Additionally, the role will provide direction on the preparation of verification and validation of controller software, ensure deliverables from subcontractors for License submittals meet all requirements and work collaboratively with all engineering disciplines including schedule management, vendor deliverable development, preliminary and final design progress, and other associated project activities.

SHINE is seeking candidates with at least a Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering including 10 years’ experience in nuclear facility engineering operations, maintenance or equivalent. Some supervisory or team leader experience is required as well as good personnel skills and good project management skills (e.g., planning work, scheduling, budgeting). A Professional Engineer license is strongly preferred.

Eligibility for employment is conditioned on the applicant’s ability to qualify for access to information subject to U.S. Export Controls regulations (U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident, Asylee or Refugee). Also, applicant’s eligibility may be conditioned based upon meeting the Nuclear Regulatory Commission requirements for access to Safeguards information which typically requires pre-employment drug test, fingerprinting, and a criminal background check.
