Edgewater is searching for two (2) Hazard Analyst’s for our Customer in Aiken, SC. No Clearance is required. Travel and Per Diem are allowed for those that qualify.

Two Hazard Analysis Engineers are needed as consultants for Salt Waste Processing Facility Safety Basis Analysis in accordance with DOE-STD-3009-CN3-Preparation of Nonreactor Nuclear Facility Documented Safety Analysis. They will bring issues needing resolution to the attention of the Deputy Nuclear Safety Manager. The duration of this contract is estimated not to exceed one year. The location for this work will be a combination of travel to and presence in Aiken, SC, and some remote office work.

Minimum education/qualifications/experience
• BS degree in engineering or science
• 10 years experience in Hazard Analysis / Safety Basis Development / USQ in DOE nuclear facilities or similar high-hazard regulated processes
• One Certified Industrial Hygienist preferred
• Experience applying DOE-STD-3009 to Safety Basis and Hazard Analysis development for DOE Nuclear Facilities

The consultants will be required to satisfactorily address DOE Formal Review comments related to hazards analysis issues, and work to this scope requiring but not limited to the following activities.

Specific activities for Task Order No. 1 include:
A. Review, update and document the Hazard Identification and Hazard Screening process results.
B. Develop and lead a series of four Hazard Analysis workshops utilizing an appropriate HA method leading to an update of the SWPF Hazard Evaluation tables.
C. Document event screening of workshop results to determine the input to Chapter 3 of the SWPF Documented Safety Analysis
D. Develop the SWPF Hazard Analysis report
E. Create appropriate summary tables resulting from HA for use in reporting the HA results in the DSA
F. Revise the SWPF project procedure for Hazard Analysis as appropriate to reflect changes to the process
