We are looking for a Systems Engineer with the following qualifications:
Performs tasks and work scope as defined below in Principal Duties and Responsibilities, Additional Duties and Responsibilities, and as directed by management.
Works in accordance with approved training, policies, procedures, and instructions and in a safe manner.
Maintains assigned reading and required reading as required for the position.
Performs work in conformance with the Integrated Safety Management System (ISMS), Voluntary Protection Program (VPP) principles and functions, and Stop Work Authority.
Participates in the identification and resolution of health and safety issues through active involvement and support of the IST and OWLS programs.
Makes recommendations for innovative ideas or approaches to processes and procedures to increase efficiency and effectiveness.
Assists in the preparation and review of procedures and other related documents, as applicable.
Provides support to cost savings initiatives, as applicable.
Responsible for completion of assigned training, qualifications/certifications, assigned reading, and required reading.
Ensures recurring training and qualifications/certifications remain current.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsible for the coordination and execution of engineering work including assignment of, tracking status of, and closure of all relevant work requests.
Provide engineering support as needed to, among others, maintenance, operations, and project management groups.
Perform programmatic and administrative duties to the AMWTP engineering department such as training, issues management, performance assessments for assigned personnel, ISMS support, and engineering procedures and document revision.
Identifies and understands the documents that constitute the design basis for assigned systems. Establishes preventive maintenance schedules and ensures that spare parts are available and tracked in the computerized maintenance management system for assigned systems.
Advises the operations organization regarding system condition and performance and needs for repair or modification.
Provides engineering solutions to technical problems within cost, schedule, and scope.
Supports compliance with applicable codes, standards, and safety programs.
Devises new approaches to problems encountered and provides solutions to the customer.
Supports discipline in the performance of complex and demanding assignments requiring initiative and independent judgement.
Provides advice and guidance on technical matters.
Interface with all levels of AMWTP management, Project management, Operations, Procurement, Quality Assurance, Engineering and Maintenance personnel, DOE Facility and Program personnel, and AMWTP Functional Area SMEs as required.
Period of performance: Through 12/31/2018 with possible extension.
