Edgewater is looking for HVAC Engineer for our Customer in Lynchburg, VA supporting a leading supplier of nuclear components and fuel to the US Govt.
Provide design engineering and field support. Primary responsibilities include engineering analysis, design development and generation of design output documents including but not limited to: flow diagrams, P&ID, sizing calculations, and equipment specifications for HVAC systems, refrigeration units, fans, filters, chillers, cooling towers, piping, pumps, sand filters, and ducts in accordance with appropriate National Codes and Standards.
Education Qualification Required
BS Degree in Mechanical, Chemical or Nuclear Engineering or current registration as a Professional Engineer in Mechanical, Chemical, or Nuclear Engineering.
Experience/Skills Qualification Required
Candidate must demonstrate 10 years HVAC design experience in the nuclear or process chemical industry. Candidate must demonstrate knowledge of NFPA 90A, 90B, 91, and 801; ASHRAE Fundamentals; ASME AG-1, 509 and 510; SMACNA; and ARI 410, 430 and 450. Candidate must have the ability to walk down systems in the field. Candidate demonstrating experience in 2D Microstation Computer Aided Drafting and Design (CADD) is preferred.
Applicants selected will be subject to a Federal background investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information or matter. Position requires U.S. Citizenship (with no dual citizenship) and ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy (DOE) security clearance which involves an extensive criminal and financial background investigation and previous employment reference verifications.
