POSITION TITLE: Environmental Compliance and Area Completion Project
(EC&ACP) Principle Engineer
DUTIES:
Provide engineering support services on assigned SRS Engineering Teams. Engineering support services include conceptual design development, input, and final design review for environmental remediation systems, deactivation, and decommissioning projects. The engineering analyses, design development and generation of design output documents include, but are not limited to: analysis of structural systems for both static and dynamic loads, design of structures of various materials, foundation and anchorage design, structural analysis for impact, and other accident conditions; piping and instrumentation diagrams, pressure protection specifications and standards, equipment & material specifications; & related construction specifications. Engineering Services will be provided using SRS processes and procedures. Programmatic guidance will be provided by SRS.

Education


BA or BS Degree/global equivalent university degree in a Technical Field with minimum of ten (10) years Mechanical/Project Engineering experience.

OR

Master Degree 5 – 8 years Mechanical/Project Engineering experience

OR

Associate Degree 12 – 15 years Mechanical/Project Engineering experience.

OR

High School Diploma and a minimum of 15 years Mechanical/Project Engineering experience.

Experience/Skills

•Minimum of 10 years of Mechanical/Project Engineering experience In Nuclear, Process Chemical, or related industry


•Knowledge of Construction Codes and Standards.


•Produce written documents with clearly organized structure and grammar. Ability to operate Windows Microsoft Office 365 applications.


•Communicate orally with management, project team members and DOE Customers regarding EC&ACP project scope.


•Must be able to pass SRS Radiological Worker Training, if required.


•Must be able to walk down facilities and systems in non-climate controlled environments.


SITE TRAINING/QUALIFICATIONS:

•Area Completion Projects (ACP) Work Planning and Control


•Fall Protection and Full Body Harness for Users


•Experience in environmental remediation is preferred.


•Familiarity with DOE Orders/Guides, EPA and SCDHEC Regulations with regards to Environmental Remediation and/or Facility Disposition.


•Familiarity with SRS procedures, engineering, operations, protocols, etc.


•Radiological and/or nuclear facility experience


•Familiarity/experience in 2D MicroStation Computer Aided Drafting and Design (CADD)


•Aerial Lift Operations


•Asbestos Awareness Training


PREFERRED SITE TRAINING/QUALIFICATIONS:

•Assisted Hazard Analysis (AHA) application User


•Behavior Based Safety Team Safety Workshop


•Conduct of Operations (CONOPS) for Engineers


•Consolidated Hazard Analysis Process (CHAP)


•Confined Space Decision Maker and Entry Program Training


•Hazard Analysis for Engineers


•HEC – Lockout Folder Function site training/qualification.


•Initial Hazardous Energy Control site training/qualifications.


•Impact of TSCA Waste Project Execution site training/qualifications.


•Life Safety and Remote Worker Briefing site training/qualifications.


•OSHA’s Revised HAZCOM site training/qualifications.


•Pollution Prevention and Waste site training/qualifications.


•Project Management & Engineering Risk site training/qualifications


•Quality Assurance Orientation NQR-1 Delta site training


•Quality Assurance Overview (DOE NTC) site training.


•Rad Worker 2 site training.


•Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) site training.


•Scaffold Safety for Users site training


•SAF-152E, Quality Assurance Overview site training.


•Safe Practices for Non-Manual Workers site training.


•Suspect Counterfeit Items SRS Program Overview site training.
