TradeWind Services a Certified Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business, located in Richland, WA is seeking to procure a Project Engineer to support client activities on the Hanford Site.

Position is full time (4/10s schedule), with work location at 300 area on the Hanford site. (subject to change)

JOB DESCRIPTION

Under administrative direction, make recommendations that are recognized as authoritative and have an important impact on extensive engineering activities for the 300-296 Remote Soil Excavation Project

Demonstrate creativity, foresight, and maturity in resolving project issues and engineering problems

Coordinate efforts of technical disciplines to insure integrated and complete designs which meet project requirements

Coordinate internal and client design reviews

Monitor project progress and costs
Identify and evaluate items constituting an increase or decrease in work scope, cost, or schedule

Coordinate design efforts with vendors and licensors to ensure proper and complete integration

Prepare project procedures for performance of administrative and design tasks

Coordinate preparation and delivery of project deliverables, design documents and bid packages
Provide coordination between design and procurement/construction for integration of technical content and schedule activities

Participate in work planning, hazard identification and control, work performance within the controls including feedback and continuous improvement, and stop work responsibility

Perform field investigations to determine as-found conditions and coordinate resolution

Review statements of work

Perform material take-offs

Responsible for compliance with safety practices and procedures

Willing to work shift work and overtime, as required
Typical Duties:

Perform all work safely and in compliance with environmental obligations using the core functions and core elements of the Integrated Safety

Management System/Environmental Management System (ISMS/EMS)

Take responsibility for your safety and the safety of those around you

Participate in work planning, hazard identification and control, work performance within the controls including feedback and continuous improvement, and stop work responsibility

Comply with client procedures and any written instructions that define how to do a task

Maintain a safe and well-kept work environment

Comply with applicable environmental laws, regulations, directives, and other binding requirements that affect environmental aspects

Continually improve our environmental performance and the performance of our EMS, while emphasizing pollution prevention and efficient use of resources

Minimize environmental impacts by considering and utilizing cost effective waste minimization and pollution prevention, energy and chemical management, and resource conservation opportunities during work planning, decision-making, procurement, design, training, and daily work activities

Identify and employ a risk-based approach to mitigate existing adverse environmental conditions

Anticipate, eliminate or mitigate future environmental impacts before they pose a threat to our environment

Promptly report and seek to correct environmental incidents and deficiencies

Establishes and implements engineering and design philosophy in response to client requirements

Provides overall management, direction and coordination for project personnel

Identifies and approves overall project plans, contractual arrangements, schedules, activities, and milestones

Establishes project-staffing requirements and coordinates staffing with supporting organization managers

Supervises and approves preparation of hour and cost budgets plus schedules for project disciplines
Reports status and progress to client, project and the company's upper management

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

BA/BS degree, plus 5 years management/supervisor experience, or an equivalent level of Professional (Engineering) or Building Trades (Foreman/ Superintendent) work experience

Experience in the remediation of NQA-1 Hazard Category 2 or 3 Nuclear Facilities, with experience in structural modifications, cell sealing, and core drilling

Project Engineer experience in HRA/HCA/ARA postings, executing SMRT/HRB approved work control documents for utility isolations, (core) drilling, temporary ventilation installation and maintenance, and grouting activities

Current on Radiological Worker II training

Current on medical screening for respirator use

DURATION                                    

Duration is anticipated from date of hire through 9/30/2018, with potential for extension.

PER DIEM

Travel and living expenses are not authorized for this position.

OTHER

All candidates are subject to a criminal background check, reference checks, and drug screening as required by the client.
