POSITION SUMMARY: Experienced nuclear engineer in the area of light-water reactor safety analysis with a focus on reactor core or system thermal hydraulics. A working knowledge of RELAP5 system thermal-hydraulic analysis software is highly desirable.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Perform thermal-hydraulic engineering analyses using the proprietary NRELAP5 computer code (and other software) in support of safety analysis methodologies, with minimal supervision.
2. Develops and uses other analytical software, with minimal supervision.
3. Acquires, maintains and develops training qualifications.
4. Performs other duties as assigned.
5. Effectively participates in teamwork, communicates with other technical and non-technical disciplines and internal customers.

• Safety Culture: Adheres to the NuScale Safety culture and is expected to model safe behavior and influence peers to meet high standards.

MINIMUM SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS AND ABILITIES:
• Education: A four year engineering degree or Engineering Intern (EI) / Engineer In Training (EIT), or equivalent education. Nuclear and Mechanical Engineering degrees strongly preferred.
• Experience: A minimum of eight years’ related experiences in nuclear engineering. An advanced degree in Nuclear or Mechanical Engineering may potentially offset 1-2 years of related work experience.
• Knowledge/ Skills/Expertise. Applies expert-level engineering principles, techniques and practices. Exercises in-depth knowledge and experience in a wide variety of aspects of the industry to develop objectives and achieve goals in effective ways.
• Industry Requirements: Eligible to work under Department of Energy 10 CFR Part 810.
• Quality Assurance: Demonstrated understanding and implementation of quality assurance regulations, standards and guidelines of 10 CFR 50 Appendix B, 10 CFR 21, and NQA-1.

Will be required to successfully pass Drug/Alcohol Testing and Background Investigation prior to Assignment. MUST BE A US CITIZEN.
