Support Projects from the planning phase through closeout. Specific deliverables are expected to include:

•Engineering studies and alternatives analyses;

•Functional requirements and design criteria documents;

•Pre-conceptual and conceptual designs/concept sketches;

•Procurement specifications;

•Statements of work for detailed engineering designs;

•Initial project schedule development for engineering deliverables;

•Oversee design subcontractors;

•Perform technical review of subcontractor design packages and calculations;

•Engineering support during construction including field walk downs, issue resolution, and design changes;

•Interface with internal and external customers and end-users;

•As-builts and project closeout.

Required and desired qualifications for the Electrical Engineer are identified below.

Required Qualifications:

•B.S. Degree in Electrical Engineering.

•Minimum 5-years design engineering work experience.

•Self-starter with a proven record of being able to complete assignments with minimal oversight.

•Good working knowledge of the current National Electric Code, IEEE, NFPA 70, and NFPA 70E.

•Experience developing technical documents, skilled technical writer.

•Good written and verbal communication skills.

•Strong work ethic, no job too small.

Desired Qualifications:

•Current Professional Engineer (PE) License.

•Prior Hanford experience.

•High voltage (230kV/115kV), medium/low voltage (≤600V), power house, substation, or facility design experience.

•Demonstrates practical application of education and training.

•Knowledge of applicable engineering codes and standards.

•Read and understand project schedules (Microsoft Project, Primavera, etc.).

•Demonstrated leadership skills.

•Subcontractor shall ensure that its personnel meet and maintain the appropriate training, qualifications, and certification requirements as applicable.
