Job Description: Mechanical Integrity PAUT / NDE Technician
The mechanical integrity PAUT / NDE technician will work under the direction of the MI group technical manager, project leads, and the PAUT Level III, to provide in-service and weld workmanship PAUT, Shear Wave, and UT thickness inspections. Candidates will be required to exam welds in accordance with B31.1, B31.3, B31.8 (API 1104) ASME section VIII, API 650, and AWS D1.1, using encoded phased array advanced ultrasonic (Phased Array and ToFD), equipment/ techniques, as required.

Must possess the ability to effectively operate hydroform corrosion mapping equipment, identify stress corrosion cracking, provide crack validation and crack sizing, of plant process equipment. Operate PMI (Positive Metal Identification) equipment, both X-ray Fluorescence (XRF), Optical Emission Spectroscopy (OES) and conventional PMI methods, have familiarity with portable hardness testing equipment , UCI , Leeb, Telebrineller, and conventional test methods, in addition to the operation of , Open Vision™ “C” arm equipment, to conduct CUI inspections is highly desired.

Have experience with in-service UT thickness, and the ability support, and provide guidance to. UT thickness technicians gartering material thicknesses of vessels, pipes, tanks, and structural steel.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Enforce and abide all safety requirements including required personal protective equipment, and safely operate tools and equipment to accomplish job assignments to System One and client requirements.
Safely operate company vehicles and strictly adhere to company safety regulations and procedures at all times.
Demonstrate excellent communication skills, professionalism, and promote a positive customer service attitude internally and externally.  An appropriate sense of urgency, have good attention to detail, follow-thru, and maintain a friendly demeanor while dealing with stressful situations.
Direct, mentor, and train personnel in the method(s) in which certified and capable of.
Willing to work with others, collaborating, compromising where necessary, and promptly share relevant information with others.
Must possess the ability to work outdoors in, hot / cold and dirty conditions. The ability to climb ladders and platforms and work from lifts, up to 250 feet with a harness and lanyard. Legal authorization to work in the United States, drug screening, DMV check, background checks required.
Knowledge and Skills:
Ability to be certified in accordance with System One written practice in the following methods: PAUT, UT Shear wave, and UTT.
Ability to set up, calibrate equipment, interpret and evaluate results in real time to determine areas of interest, with respect to applicable codes, standards, and or customer specifications.
Be thoroughly familiar with the scope and limitations of the techniques and method in which are to be employed.
Responsible for all paperwork to be turn in a timely manner including safety forms, company required forms, customer forms, and timesheets.
Must have working knowledge of MS Office Suite of products.
Knowledge of Industry Codes. Possesses the ability to become familiar with industrial drawings (blueprints)
Education and Work Experience:
High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Technical Background in NDE methods and techniques preferred.
Minimum of 5+ years of NDE experience with full documentation of prior training, experience and certification is required.
The position is located in the Mon Valley PA (30 minutes South of Pittsburgh) with possible work at other locations. Travel is required.
