The Lead Automation Engineer (Lead Engineer) is a leadership rote responsible for technical and schedule performance of the automation software development and maintenance team.
The software team is developing the automation software for the MOX Fuel Fabrication Facility (MOX Facility).
The Lead Engineer must be able to will report to the Manager of Software Design and will work closely with the software development staff, Engineering, Operations, and the Startup/Test organizations.
The Lead Engineer must be able to quickly understand the methods and principles used for the development of the MOX Facility automation and are able to make decisions and provide technical direction to the development team.
The Lead will be responsible for resource planning and must be sufficiently flexible to adjust to changing priorities as appropriate.
The Lead will be technically responsible for software deliverables and will approve alt deliverables developed by the automation software development team.
There is a range of software lifecycle stages from new developments to maintenance of completed developments.
The Lead Engineer will have to analyze process design changes and test results and describe the impact of changes on software for approval and communication to the team members making the changes
The Lead Engineer will also review objective evidence of software change implementation and test and closeout software changes as appropriate.
The Lead Engineer will be part of the senior software development staff and contribute to the direction and leadership of the entire software development Staff
The Lead Engineer will be responsible for.
(a) technical approval of software requirements specifications, software documents, and code reviews; (b) execution of work within the constraints of the approved budget and schedule, and in conformance with the required quality standards; and (c) ensuring that functional deliveries are properly placed under software configuration management.
Required Qualifications (Include or experience and education requirement):
Bachelor of Science Industrial Engineering, Computer Science, Electric Engineering, Relevant field of Engineering
Ten (-10) years of relevant experience can be accepted In lieu of a BS Degree.
Experience: 5+ years relevant experience automation design; manufacturing, government or nuclear power business sector.
The Lead Engineer:
(a) must be able to demonstrate creativity, Initiative, and motivation to assess problems and develop solution with minimum assistance from supervisor;
(b) Must be organized and have the ability to Interact with key software personal in an efficient and effective manner;
(c) Must be able to understand and apply software development standards regulations and Other project specific requirements applied to software development; (d) must be able to understand end project safety requirements and initiatives; (e) must be able to Interact and coordinate with the responsible system engineers and designer of the process equipment; and (f) must be confident individually responsible and be able to instill those qualities others.
The Lead Engineer must have: (a) with and a demonstrated proficiency with Siemens S7 Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) and Step7 development environment: (b) experience with development of Supervisory Control and data acquisition applications:
(c) Must have an understanding of a structured Software Development Lifecycle; (d) have strong technical writing engineering document interpretation Skills;
(e) Be team-oriented; have excellent and verbal communication skills; (f) be skilled in the use of Microsoft OS and Office applications
Desired certification and education beyond the minimum required):
Have familiarity with, Schneider Triconex PLC; and Function Block, Sequential Function Chart, and structured text programming languages, Prior experience in automation in regulated environments such as commercial nuclear power, pharmaceuticals, or the FDA. Have experience with either Modbus or Profibus industrial networks.
Have experience in other programming languages such as VB, C, C++, or SQL, Have experience in automation of fuel cycle facilities and some French language skills.
