The Civil/Structural Engineer 1 Is responsible for applying knowledge of engineering principles and on-the-Job training to prepare discipline estimates and work plans.
The individual in this position prepares engineering drawings and calculations, including specifications relating to the discipline.
The Engineer 1 is also responsible for preparing engineering calculations, collaborating with suppliers and other appropriate field personnel to support project work.
Champion the commitment to safety, security, environmental and quality priorities and values throughout the Client Project
Work with more senior level Engineers to obtain on-the-job training and develop practical knowledge of material acquired during academic study
Apply engineering principles to make basic decisions with guidance related to design issues
Participate in implementation and performance of work plans accordingly
Prepare engineering drawings and calculations, Include specifications relating to the discipline
Coordinate engineering work with other project groups/disciplines as needed
Maintain contact with suppliers, appropriate field personnel and other disciplines to ensure coordination of work within the project and compliance with project procedures
Perform tasks efficiently with attention to detail
Perform engineering calculations using software programs as required, ensuring to clearly state purpose and conclusion
Perform engineering design ensuring to communicate and Interface with designers and other disciplines
Ensure to clearly understand the requirements of the design
Ensure to understand and use the National and Local Codes and Standards requirements in performing engineering design
Produce technically correct, constructible, engineered design products including drawings and specifications
Communicate clearly with peers, technical and non-technical personnel
Required Qualifications (Include only minimum years of experience and education requirements):
Bachelor's Degree in Civil, Structural or Mechanical Engineering
Ability to apply technical skills obtained in Bachelor's level engineering program
Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Previous internship in Engineering
Knowledge of software programs such as (ETAP, GTSTRUDL, ANSYS)
Demonstrated organizational skills
Effective communication and interpersonal skillsóboth written and verbal
Team player and able to work well with others
