Senior Web Application Developer

Provide development, design, expert maintenance, audit support, and computer security improvements for Savannah River Site websites and web applications.


1. Website Development and Maintenance
a. Develop and maintain modern n-tiered web applications, making heavy use of javascript, javascript libraries, and pre-defined widgets and components.
b. Create and maintain intuitive and professional Web sites that adhere to the W3C standard.
c. Leverage site Content Management solutions for existing and new web sites.
d. Develop Rich Internet Web applications to be deployed in both Apache HTTP, Apache Tomcat, and Internet Information Servers (IIS).

2. Procedures
a. Utilize IT Policies, Procedures, Standards and Guides such as software, configuration, and project management policies.

3. Customer Service
a. Actively manage and improve customer relationships through regular communications, timely completion of agreed-upon milestones, and service reliability.
b. Assist customers in defining requirements consistent with IT architecture and standards.
c. Understand customer priorities and objectives and take an active role in accomplishing these objectives.
d. Transmit feedback from customers to other IT areas or management.
e. Keep customers informed of global problems, problem progress, scheduled downtime, or anything that affects their system(s).

4. Communication
a. Keep peers and manager informed of trends, significant problems, unexpected delays, and anything new in the environment.
b. Develop project plans with measurable milestones.


1) BA or BS Degree in Information Systems or Computer Science with (7) years web application development experience or High school diploma or Associate Degree with ten (10) years technical discipline experience.

Experience and Qualifications:

Minimum of 5 years work experience as a Web developer in a commercial environment. Demonstrated knowledge and abilities in the following:

5 years experience (7 years, if no degree) in developing n-tier web based applications using:

1. Java and its core libraries

2. Integrated Development Environments (IDE) such as Eclipse or IntelliJ

3. Object Oriented analysis and design using common design patterns.

3 years experience with and working knowledge of:

1. Spring Boot or other web application frameworks.

2. Oracle and/or SQL Server

3. HTML, CSS, JavaScript, AJAX

Working knowledge of:

1. Agile development methodologies

2. Service Oriented Architecture

3. REST Web Services

4. SQL and stored procedures

5. Angular (1.2 or greater)

6. Bootstrap 3

7. CSS 3
