Contract / Temp to Direct / Direct Hire: Contract

The Quality Control (QC) Technician’s duties for the Luckey Formerly Utilized Sites Remedial Action Program (FUSRAP) Remediation Project include, but are not limited to:
• Verify that all required construction QC sampling, testing, and documentation are performed correctly.
• Assist in the development, training, and verify use of Quality Assurance (QA)/QC procedures and instructions.
• Ensure that the construction project plans are properly executed and evaluate the effectiveness of controls delineated in the Luckey work plans and procedures.
• Participate in conducting daily quality checks and obtaining data for Daily Quality Report
• Support quality audits and inspections
• Ensure that project record keeping is effective, thorough and complete
• Assist in recording, maintaining, and submitting various information into the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ (USACE) Resident Management System (RMS)/quality control system (QCS)
• Provide other support, as necessary, to the Contract Quality Control Site Manager
• 3 - 5 years of increasing job responsibilities
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to coordinate multiple activities and provide QC oversight for multiple contractors and craft.
• Experience working on radiological and/or hazardous waste sites.
• Experience on a USACE site preferred, including an understanding and experience with RMS/QCS.
• Prior experience in QA/QC.
• Ability to obtain Radiation Worker II qualifications, complete Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response (HAZWOPER) worker qualification, and pass a HAZWOPER/respirator user medical exam.
• Ability to work in different types of personal protective equipment (half-face, full-face respirators, Tyvek, etc.) while performing various tasks/activities (e.g., climbing, walking, stopping, etc.) in different work environments (e.g., cold, heat, etc.).
• Experience in work environments with exposure to all weather conditions and temperature extremes.
• Proficient in use of Microsoft Office software (Microsoft Word, Excel).
• Motivated and willing to work as part of a team and perform multiple job functions.
• Ability to clearly communicate, both orally and in written form, and to maintain records related to the job.
• Ability to read and comply with project direction contained in project-specific plans and procedures, and/or execute tasks after receiving verbal direction.
• Must have a valid driver’s license.
• May be required to pass a pre-employment background check.
• Must be required to pass a pre-employment drug screen.
• Must be required to undergo pre-employment beryllium blood testing (to be scheduled by Portage). Only people who are found to not be sensitized to beryllium will be allowed to work on the Luckey site.
• Experience on remediation/construction type projects is highly desirable.
• High School diploma or equivalent
