To govern and oversee the Fuel Integrity Program and relevant Processes/ Procedures, technically support plant RE implementing this Program; To support plant RE on the ongoing fuel related regulatory issues or common engineering issues of all units and implement strategies to provide governance and oversight for all activities related to fuel safety and integrity of Barakah Nuclear Power Plant.
Staff Training and Qualification/Plant
Set management expectations and communicate with department manager to ensure high level of safety and reliability of plant systems, structure and components.
Establish long term training and qualification plan to align with corporate vision or management goal in order to achieve high level of safety and performance on the fuel management.
Oversee plant RE department in conducting required training, qualification and On the Job Training (OJT) by giving appropriate feedback on their results and regards.
Maintain standardized Job Qualification Card (JQCs) and Job Tasks of fuel management area for all units.
Monitor and coach to improve performance of each individual.
Evaluate performance of individual staff to develop necessary training.
Ensure training programs provide necessary technical knowledge and skills.
Ensure the Training & Qualification documents, Programs, Processes are standardized across Barakah Nuclear Power Plant (BNPP).
Fuel Management Governance and Oversight
Update and implement a master schedule for Plant RE.
Govern and support the implementation of the Fuel Integrity Program and related processes/ procedures.
Establish and implement long term strategies for fuel management.
Oversee major fuel related plant activities such as New Fuel receipt, Initial Fuel Load and Neutron Source Assembly (NSA) receipt and feed experiences back to the remaining units.
Oversee the behavior of fuel integrity parameters of core during operation.
Support to implement the Fuel Integrity Program/Processes and to develop Procedures on time for Unit 3&4.
Support to implement the Functional schedule for Unit 3&4 for Fuel On-Site (FOS)/ Fuel Load (FL) readiness.
Benchmark Units 1&2 operation experience and apply to Units 3&4 operation activities.
Assure standardization of procedures in RE as much as applicable for all BNPP units.
Support for Fuel Management Enhancement
Support implementation of Fuel Management initiatives affecting all BNPP units.
Develop and implement the Fuel Reliability Program and build strong relationship with related stakeholders.
Manage and report plant Fuel Reliability Index (RFI), WANO Performance Index (PI).
Support plant RE executing Failed Fuel Action plan.
Support plant RE in the preparation and the conduction of WANO and INPO evaluations.
Provide technical support on the ongoing fuel related issues.
Oversee the preparedness and reliability of plant fuel management procedures.
