SHINE is immediately seeking a CAD group Leader who has a diverse design/drawing background and the ability to lead a team of designers while also executing design work independently (Player/Coach). The CAD leader will report to one of SHINE’s Engineering Managers
This Lead position will focus on developing design standards, identifying and implementing an appropriate document management system, guiding the organization toward constructible drawings, and supervising drafters. SHINE intends to build our manufacturing facility in 2018 in Janesville, WI and this position will ensure that finalized engineering designs are translated to Construction ready documents. A significant effort and emphasis will be placed on standards, revision control and document accessibility.
Key responsibilities outside of leadership include drafting support for mechanical design development including; component drawings, facility plans (mechanical, fire protection, plumbing, electrical, etc.), PFDs/P&IDs, general details, and piping tables. Cost Estimating experience is also a plus. Applicants must have fluent 2D and 3D CAD skills with recent use of Bentley MicroStation and/or AutoPipe. Experience with AutoCAD and SolidWorks would also be valuable. Experience in the medical industry (FDA), or other highly regulated technical industry is desired.
Ideal Lead Designer/Engineer candidates will have an Associate or Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related discipline with 10 years of recent designer experience and a minimum of 2 years recent leadership experience. Hands on experience or construction oversight in the associated fields is a plus.
Eligibility for employment is conditioned on the applicant’s ability to qualify for access to information subject to U.S. Export Controls regulations (U.S. Citizen or National, U.S. Permanent Resident, Asylee, or Refugee). Additionally, applicant’s eligibility may be conditioned based upon meeting the Nuclear Regulatory Commission requirements for access to Safeguards Information, which typically requires a pre-employment drug test, fingerprinting, and a criminal background check.
