The Process Unit/Glovebox Construction Field Engineer 3 or 4 is responsible for supporting daily field construction activities related to the process unit/glovebox group on the Client Project.
The individual within these roles ensures adherence to design basis and quality/requirements for all assigned process Unit/Glovebox and support installation work.
Supports for these activities include:
Review of work Packages in planning, working, and closure
Provides technical assistance to the Process Unit Supervisor and Superintendent and keeps them informed on matters relating to quality and quality control
Champion the commitment to safety, security, environmental and quality priorities and values through the Client project
Update Work Packages and/or create additional steps for appropriate changes
Initiating, reviewing, implementing, and/or dispositioning changes requests such as Field Change Notices, Field Changes Request, Nonconformance Reports, and other Technical documentation
Acquiring and maintaining as-built information for installations
Performing field walk-downs and inspections to work for conformance with design requirements, applicable code/standards and project procedures
Request material transfers and/or material verification from warehouses
Updating schedulers/project controls of work completed
Coordinating inspection and testing activities
General coordination with multiple groups across (craft, design, QC, subcontracts, etc)
Review/interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and other documents
Execute the required duties and activities with no technical direction
Review/interpret design drawings for constructability
Revise and review revisions to project procedures as needed
Cross discipline review of design documents and interface with client, vendor, and other disciplines as required.
Provide clarifications of drawings, specifications, and other technical documents as necessary to support Process Unit Construction.
Reviews the project schedule and working with the applicable supervisor and superintendant, supports work implementation as required.
Observes and ensures construction practices as required for compliances of construction operations/execution with federal, state, and local codes, industry standards company procedures, and contractual requirements.
Achieve successful completion of assigned work responsibilities on time, within budget, schedules, and contract requirements.
Adhering to and promoting safe work practices.
Serve as a resource and direct supervisor for training/mentoring colleagues with less experience.
Attend any and all job related meetings as required.
Report daily, weekly, and/or monthly to Director of Construction Engineering on installed quantities and status.
To qualify as a CFE3 (Const Tech Svs Spec II):
High School Diploma or GED with (10) or more years’ experience in Construction Field Engineering or other related industry fields OR Associates or technical degree with (6) or more years’ experience in Construction Field Engineering or other related industry fields OR Bachelor’s degree with (4) or more years’ experience in Construction Field Engineering or other related industry fields.
To qualify as a CFE4 (Const Tech Svs Spec II):
High School Diploma or GED with (15) or more years’ experience in Construction Field Engineering or other related industry fields OR Associates or technical degree with (10) or more years’ experience in Construction Field Engineering or other related industry fields OR Bachelor’s degree with (8) or more years’ experience in Construction Field Engineering or other related industry fields.
Capable of using basic MS office applications (Outlook, Excel, Word, Access, etc.)
Contributes to achievement of team goals; promotes teamwork.
Working knowledge of the construction process.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills – both written and verbal.
Capable of using programs such as AutoCAD or MicroStation, SmartPlant, and/or SupportModeler.
Prior Nuclear Experience.
Extensive knowledge of the Electrical Construction process.
Working knowledge of other discipline scopes, roles and responsibilities.
Working knowledge of OSHA and other Construction related rules and regulations.
Strong math aptitude, analytical and problem solving skills.
Experience in Construction Management, Project Management and/or Supervision.
Ability to foster a leadership environment that encourages performance, growth and satisfaction for employees.
Organization and delegation capabilities.
