Seeking a Safety Manager to support work in the Savannah, GA area.

Safety Manager is responsible for establishing, managing, implementing and enforcing the company safety program that align with regulatory systems, contract strategies and organizational policies and procedures for a specific project, contract, or region.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Manages and implements the company’s health and safety program and project safety plans; conducts associated training, safety meetings and inspections
• Works with the Program Manager and Superintendent to enforce and standardize safety practices
• Communicates a proactive culture of safety through safety communications
• Develops and implements site safety and emergency plans
• Develops schedules and procedures for training, where appropriate
• Monitors safety and health regulations and provides technical support to program manager and personnel to ensure compliance with federal and state safety and health regulations
• In conjunction with the Corporate Safety Manager, investigates accidents and incidents, identifies root causes, reports on the causes and solutions and ensures that countermeasures are implemented in a timely manner
• Maintains and oversees safety lessons learned program
• Conducts safety audits and inspections
• Maintains all equipment and tool inspection documentation
• Stays abreast of new regulations and applicable laws, communicates and integrates changes or corrections as required
• Performs audits/reviews to test compliance with established laws, regulations and policies
• Tracks, trends and reports on the leading/lagging safety indicators
• Performs other duties as are appropriate and as assigned
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Safety, Industrial Safety or related field.

Experience: Possess at least three (3) years related experience within the construction field with a minimum of two (2) years of experience in construction safety management.

*In lieu of the preceding education requirements, the Safety Representative candidate may qualify by providing proof of a minimum of three (3) years of experience in the construction field with a minimum of five (5) years of experience in construction safety management.

• Working knowledge of Federal and State safety and health regulations, USACE Safety Regulations, as well as local building code issues for safety and health
• Professional CSHT or CSP certification preferred
• OSHA 30 hour Construction Safety Course.
• HAZWOPER – Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response certification
• CPR – First Aid Instructor certification
• Ability to work effectively with a wide variety of construction personnel, professionals, as well as corporate management and staff and outside business associates
• Superior organizational, follow-up and detail oriented skills; must be able to manage multiple projects and deadlines
• Ability to work independently, in a team environment and work with minimal supervision
• Strong oral and written communication skills with an emphasis on the presentation of materials in a meaningful manner to ultimate decision makers
• Ability to research and analyze complex and technical issues
• Ability to think strategically
• Ability to make decisions, solve problems and exercise good judgment; ability to work under pressure and prioritize workload
• Must be able to think strategically and anticipate risk management and safety trends and issues
• Excellent oral and written communication skills, including thorough knowledge of proper grammar, advanced vocabulary, spelling, editing and proofreading skills
• Ability to quickly become familiar with new industry and regulatory information and apply such information to risk management and safety programs
• Ability to quickly become familiar with the business objectives of CIRI
• Strong Microsoft Office Suite skills and Adobe software skills
• Working knowledge of standard office equipment
• High degree of sensitivity and ability to maintain confidential information
