Workers at this level are responsible for checking CM products, developing Engineering Changes (ECs) to reflect the as-designed as-built state as implemented through pre-authorized design configuration changes. Effectively apply and understand fundamental CM concepts, engineering procedures, and design control concepts to work that is increasingly more complex and varied. Competent knowledge of civil, electrical, digital, and mechanical discipline configuration practices and standards, EC programmatic interfaces to ensure that information is properly updated. Advises station groups on proper configuration management for various EDB Equipment IDs, data fields, and drawing standards.
• Provide day-to-day production support of the Florida Energy Management System (EMS)
• Perform integration, modeling and testing of various SCADA devices and validate data in EMS applications.
• Update EMS displays as equipment is added/updated in electrical substations.
• Perform EMS configuration tasks to support user access requests and other control center functionality enhancements.
•Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering Technology, Computer Engineering Technology, or Computer Science
•2+ years utility experience
•Able to work effectively in challenging situations and under time pressure
•Able to understand and resolve complex technical issues.
•Excellent interpersonal, teamwork, and organizational skills.
•Valid driver's license and ability to travel throughout the company's service territory and facilities (substations, operations centers, etc.), as required.
•Able to pass NERC background check.
•A working knowledge of SCADA protocols such as Conitel and DNP 3.0 as well as Wireshark troubleshooting tools.
•Knowledge of SCADA and other EMS applications, including modeling/operations of GE-Alstom products such as e-terracontrol, e-terrabrowser, e-terrasource
•Experience with historical databases and applications, such as OSIsoft PI and ProcessBooks
•General knowledge of networking protocols and equipment
•Computer programming and development including PERL scripting, XML usage, and Windows Operating Systems
