PMQS is currently looking for QC Inspectors that are certified MT & PT to work a long-term contract assignment in Oak Ridge, TN. Client prefers local candidates as per diem is not offered.
Major Duties /Responsibilities:
Position reports to the Integrated Operations Support Division Welding Program Manager. The
Welding Inspector will be required to work with minimal supervision and shall be
responsible for NDE & welding examinations, testing and inspection of steam valves,
pressure vessels, fixed ladder inspections, piping components, structural assemblies and
other fabrication assemblies as required for repair work and new construction. Work to be
preformed in both a shop and field environment. Requires good working knowledge of shop and
field fabrication techniques. A strong welding background is a plus. Good written and
verbal communications with ability to use basic office software (i.e. Word, Excel, Time
Management Software, etc.). Make isometric sketches
Minimum of a high school education. 5 years’ experience with weld inspection & NDE of
welds. AWS certified Welding Inspector, ASNT Level II for PT & MT is required. Background
experience in pressure vessel repair, new construction, and installation is required.
Working knowledge of ASNT; ASME B-31, AWS D1.1, D1.2, D1.6 and D9.1, ASME Boiler & Pressure
Vessel Code is required. Hydrostatic and pneumatic testing experience is preferred. Ability
to draw isometric drawings for documentation purposes.
Lifting 50 pounds, climb ladders, scaffolding, stairs, pulmonary and respiratory fit
testing, working in confined spaces, annual acuity test (Jaeger Type No. 1 Standard Chart at
a distance of not less than 12 inches).
AWS CWI certificate, ASNT
Level II certifications for PT & MT with hours of training in method & general, specific,
and practical test scores.
