Conduct quality assurance activities related to special inspections in accordance with the IBC during construction at the WIPP Site. Special inspections are required for building components identified in IBC when the design of these components is required to be performed by a professional engineer or architect. NWP needs ICC certified inspectors to meet these requirements. Inspection items include fabricators for pre-engineered structural components, fabrication process for prefabricated wood products, as well as for materials such as:
Sprayed fire-resistant materials
Mastic and intumescent fire-resistant coatings
Exterior insulation and finish systems (EIFS)
Any special cases as determined by the building official
This position requires a Technical Bachelorís degree plus 15 years of experience in a related engineering discipline (e.g., mechanical, electrical) with the activities above or a combination of education and relevant experience deemed acceptable by NWP.
