Material Controls Specialist for the Hanford Fire Department

DESCRIPTION OF WORK:
• This position serves a Material Control Specialist for HFD Support Services Division and Fire Systems Maintenance (FSM). The duties include researching, recommending, planning, and assisting the HFD Buyer Technical Representatives (BTR) and Cost Account Manager (CAM) in the purchasing of materials, equipment and services.
• This position requires the Material Control Specialist to coordinate logistics support functions including (but not limited to) the following:
• Excessing of materials/equipment support
• Assisting in office moves
• Assist in tracking and receiving material and equipment shipments
• HFD property management and tracking
• Updating Omni lock access for incoming and outgoing employees
• Assists on rehabilitation support for wildland fires
• The Material Control Specialist duties will also include assisting FSM Schedulers with scheduling and resource allocating.
• This position requires the Material Control Specialist to coordinate scheduling support functions including (but not limited to) the following:
• Schedule preventive maintenance, corrective maintenance, modification, and intensive pre-approved work activities
• Ensure resources are available to support schedules
• Prepare and distribute Plan of Day (POD), Plan of Week (POW) and/or Plan of Month (POM) reports
• Facilitate POM, POW, and/or POM meetings
• Manage the Ready-to-Work work packages
• Interface with other Hanford contractors to ensure facility support
• Schedule overtime necessary to support FSM activities
• Expedite emergent work packages through the scheduling process when urgent maintenance support is needed
QUALIFICATIONS:
Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Project Management, or related field and 2 years related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a demonstrated ability for writing concisely and clearly are required.
• Position requires technical writing experience, creative problem solving skills, ability to adapt to constantly changing priorities, handling multiple job tasks concurrently, and communicating with all levels of workers and management, both internal and external.

Desired Qualifications:
• Prior work experience in property asset tracking, excessing materials, barcode and inventory management systems.
• Knowledge of Fire Department/Emergency Services concepts, Department of Energy (DOE) directives, and contractor policies and procedures as they relate to the Hanford Site.

SECURITY AND BADGING REQUIREMENTS:
A. For any on-site work, see On-Site Services Special Provisions for details.
B. The subcontractor shall wear a Buyer issued security badge identifying themselves. A minimum of two working days advance notice is needed for site badging.
C. Subcontractor employees will be required to submit to vehicle searches and not personally carry or transport certain prohibited articles.
D. If the Subcontractor under this scope of work will be required an access authorization (security clearance), then the following will apply. Will not require security clearance

WORK LOCATION / POTENTIAL ACCESS REQUIREMENTS:
The subcontractor will execute primary scope functions in a designated office space at the HFD administration buildings located at MO292 in the 600 area and/or MO286 in the 200E area of the Hanford Site located outside of Richland, Washington.

SITE ACCESS AND WORK HOURS:
• Hanford personnel at the Hanford Site work a standard 4/10 schedule. The standard work week consist of ten (10) hours of work between 6:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. with one-half hour designated as an unpaid period for lunch, Monday through Thursday.
• Work performed outside normal operating hours shall be coordinated and/or approved through the BTR and/or the contract Specialist prior to performing the work.
