INTRODUCTION / BACKGROUND
Electrical Utilities (EU) is in need of a candidate for work as a Field Work Supervisor and a Transformer Management Supervisor in our Operations and Projects and Programs departments at 2101M, 200 East Hanford.
This position will support EU management by supervising Craft and Transformer Management individuals including but not limited to asset and work tracking and dispositioning, system development, assessments, corrective actions, and maintenance. Position supports the EU Operations and EU Projects and Programs managers for day-to-day activities and long-term goals.
DESCRIPTION OF WORK – SPECIFIC
This position will include field work supervisory activities of high-voltage electrical workers (bargaining unit) engaged in hazardous work under the general supervision of the EU Operations Manager. This position also will be responsible for managing, tracking, and maintaining EU transformers cradle to grave, including (but not limited to) procurement, receiving/inspection, site nomenclature, testing, storage, polychlorinated biphenyls (PCB) content, field assignment, spares, service life, tracking, removal from service, sampling, draining, disposal criteria and records retention under the supervision of the EU Projects and Programs Manager.
This position will be responsible for working with EU craft, supervisors and management both in the field and office, coordinating efforts to complete work packages and maintain all the transformers throughout the site. The candidate will need to be technically competent in the electrical field and be able to communicate project issues and status in both written and verbal communications.
The candidate shall provide a qualified and experienced individual, who is knowledgeable of leadership and administrative functions as appropriate, and requested by the Buyer Technical Representative (BTR) to perform tasks including but not limited to the following:
Supervise operations of select craft and the Transformer Management Program.
Write and edit procedures and policies for EU’s Transformer Management Program.
Provide leadership in tracking electrical utilities transformers from cradle to grave.
Lead the input information into a computerized tracking system.
Ensure that transformer corrective, preventive, and predictive maintenance are performed and tracked.
Work closely with operations and maintenance craft, engineering group and planning department on a daily basis such as in hiring, promoting, resolving bargaining unit grievances and concerns, and evaluating employee performance.
Work with the EU Director and Operations Manager to enhance specialized tasks and projects.
Program Development, Implementation, Control, Assessment, and Measurement.
Conduct assessments ensuring accurate and informative project reporting and performance for the PM/PdM/CM management program within cost and schedule.
Work directly with EU management to ensure accurate budgeting and scheduling information are established and communicated to internal staff.
Development and delivery of monthly reports on project status.
Development and maintain programs for Transformers or assigned.
Assist with sample management.
Work with management for corrective action management, assessments, and training.
Work with maintenance system programmers for report building and system tasks.
Assist development of EU documents, desktop guides and checklist, and training.
Assist development and maintenance of EU subcontracts.
Assist in development and maintenance of an EU inventory control program.
Assist with EU Procedure Maintenance.
Assist with EU milestones and other program work as directed by EU Management (e.g. – PI goals, EU Master Plan).
•Bachelor’s degree and four (4) years’ experience OR an equivalent combination of education and related work experience.
•Knowledge of sample collection, management, and chain-of-custody programs.
•Must be able to use problem-solving skills, effectively analyze available information and use deductive reasoning and analytical skills. This may involve going to alternate sources for additional information and guidance.
•Demonstrated work with a variety of customers in high-pressure situations using tact and diplomacy while giving outstanding customer service.
•Ability to communicate exceptionally well in written and verbal formats.
•Proficient in using Microsoft Office products. (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
•Electrical background and experience.
•Possess a valid Washington State Driver's License or be able to obtain one.
•Experience with risk management.
•Experience with corrective action management.
•Experience in scheduling/planning/logistics events or resources.
•Experience ordering/tracking materials.
•Proficient in Adobe, Project, AutoCAD and maintenance of a Database/Information Systems (CMMS, DBMS, MIS, HRIS, Access, Maximo).
•Understands hazard, safety, equipment, and configuration control.
•Knowledge of business and management principles
•Skilled in monitoring performance, written and oral communication, judgment and decision-making, and problem solving.
•Work independently or within a team.
