Job Description

Characterize a wide variety of waste types to determine regulatory requirements.
Recommend analytical protocols based on Permit requirements.
Properly identify EPA waste codes and LDR status.
Develop written waste profiles and other documentation required for storage, transportation, and disposal in accordance with EPA and New Mexico hazardous waste regulations.
Inspect and accept waste containers; collect and handle samples of hazardous waste; lab pack waste; maintain permitted container storage areas; review and recommend updates for permits, procedures, and safety documents.
Safely operate vehicles and forklifts to handle waste containers.
Adhere to strict work schedule at assigned duty station.
Job Requirements
Knowledge and experience with waste characterization in accordance with federal and state RCRA and TSCA regulations.
Ability to safely operate vehicles and equipment, handle waste and waste containers including 55-gallon drums, maintain HAZWOPER certification including respirator use.
Able to pass DOD NACI background investigation
US Citizen
Valid driver's license
Certified Hazardous Materials Manager
Asbestos Inspector Certification
OSHA HAZWOPER Certification
RCRA Hazardous Waste, advanced training

Education and Experience Requirements

College degree in a related field.
